Am 24. Januar 2009 traten Coldplay zum ersten Mal bei „Wetten, Dass…?“ im ZDF auf.

 

Das Jahr 2008 verlief für Chris Martin und seine Bandkollegen sensationell. Mit über 7 Millionen verkauften Exemplaren zählt das im Juni 2008 erschienene Coldplay-Album „Viva La Vida“ zu den meistverkauften Alben des Jahres. Gerade wurde das Album in Amerika von iTunes zum bestverkauften Download Album des Jahres 2008 gekürt.

 

Auch hierzulande waren Coldplay sehr erfolgreich: Mit weit über 400.000 verkauften Exemplaren von „Viva La Vida“ erreichen Coldplay den Doppelplatin-Status in Deutschland.

 

Wer Coldplay nicht nur im Fernsehen bei “Wetten Das…?” sondern auch mal Live erleben möchte: Die britische Band präsentiert ihre Viva La Vida Tour Ende August 2009 in drei deutschen Städten.

Hier nun der Auftritt bei Wetten, Dass…?. Schaut es Euch an so lange es geht. Ich gehe davon aus, dass das Video nicht lange im Netz sein wird. Chris Martin singt Live, wie sich das für Coldplay gehört. Er wirkte bei dem Auftritt etwas abgedreht. Allerdings muß man auch sagen, dass Coldplay sich mitten in einer riesigen Welttournee befindet. Und wenn man auf der Bühne vor 50.000 Fans steht, ist diese art der Bühnenpräsenz völlig normal - was im TV allerdings etwas überdreht aussieht.

 

Und da Coldplay gerade permanent und von Land zu Land jettet (und gibt es ja auch noch Frau und Kinder), kann man froh sein, dass überhaupt Zeit für ein TV-Auftritt bleibt.

 

Übrigens. Der Drummer hat sich beim Auftritt den Drumstick ins Gesicht geschleudert und eine blutige Nase geholt. Das nennt man Einsatz.

I've seen the performance with some friends who aren't Coldplay Fans. They did not pay attention to Chris' jumping but to Wills' bleeding nose they said he maybe had a fight before the show :lol:

One friend said Chris is good looking, I agreed :)

 

To me Mirjams' English sounded not that bad. I don't like her as a host so I was a bit annoyed by her because she was talking all the time. I wanna hear the guys!!!! When they could say anything they were as great as ever.

I like Coldplay. Viva la vida, although a plagiarism, is really beautifully. The more largely my disappointment. Their appearance with bets that was genuinly amusingly. The singer looked as under drugs, or on drugs, is tripped, nearly fallen down, hardly correct sang constantly. The Drummer had a bloody nose. What was there the matter?

it's a blog entry but unfortunately it's in german but the writer and the commentators are refering to the impression of chris being drunk and that if you also look at the bleeding drummer it seems like they were on drugs since this were typical rockstar behaviours and the quality of Coldplay would've run low in the last time..
