ORIGINAL POST:

I was just watching today's "Wetten, dass..?" show with Nicole Kidman, Hugh Jackman, Lewis Hamilton etc. on ZDF television. At the end the host mentioned some actors and bands who will perform on the next show in January. I'm not quite sure, but I think he said Coldplay!!!

Am I the only person who noticed it or has everyone already switched over to the boxing fight?

-------------------------------------------------------------------

GRAMMY® Award Verleihung.

Unter den insgesamt sieben Nominierungen ist die Band unter anderem in den wichtigsten Kategorien „Record of the Year“, “Album Of The Year“ und „Song Of The Year“ genannt.

Ha ha, I was just going to post this, too. ;)

So no Larry, you definitely got Mr Gottschalk right - he did say that Coldplay will perform on the next show in January. :D

Well, that's at least what I understood as well. And I really hope it wasn't just my wishful thinking as I've been mourning all the way through the show that ZDF actually could invite some better musicians/acts (especially because of PCD... :dozey: ). ;)

But then he announced Coldplay would come and so everything's fine again. Oh, I just can't wait until 24th January. :D

24th of January is my birthday

Thanks for the news :D

I just checked if you can still get tickets ... but I don't think so :\

Hello Larry!

Guttentagen!:)

I haven't the foggiest notion what the show "Wetten, Dass..." is about, or who will perform next on it - sounds like a variety show (Y/N)? Anyhow, perhaps ZDF has the lineup on the net somewhere..

It's great to hear from you!

PS - I watched the special on Hamburg's (or was it Bremen's) 800th year celebration? The Queen Mary II was being repaired in a special dry-dock there - quite a feat to park a ship like that!

Ah so I wasn't wrong, yeah! :D

I always wondered why Coldplay never performed on "Wetten, dass..?" before. For those of you who don't know the show... It's said to be the most successful show in Europe in regard to viewer levels. Altogether three tv-stations from Germany (ZDF), Austria (ORF1) and Switzerland (SF1) are going to broadcast this show every month. :)

Did Thomas mention where the next show will take place?

No, there's no chance of getting tickets anymore... I think one can usually get tickets approximately 6 or even more months before the show and also just by lot... So it's generally rather complicated to get tickets anyway... :\

By the way, does anybody know where the next show will take place?

Did Thomas mention where the next show will take place?

apparently it's going to be in Offenburg (Baden-Württemberg)

Good evening! :D

Well there's a good description of the show here...

Sadly ZDF doesn't have a line-up for the next show. Their main page only deals with the current show so far. :(

PS: It was Hamburg indeed! Very interesting city and worth a visit. :)

oh man!!

it really looks like there's no chance to get into the show in some way

and it's too far for me to try to see them arriving or leaving :cry2:

Oh my god...

Last year I went to Basel to "Wetten Dass?!"... for stalking. I met the Klitschkos (yes, I just watched the fight too). They were standing 1 mm in front of me (btw. Jennifer Garner as well... for at least 20 minutes  ) I had planned to go to "Wetten Dass?!" today as well, but was just too lazy (and I knew the next show would take in Offenburg anyway... which is even closer than Stuttgart, where the show took place today) ... I'm talking too much

UHM!! I wanted to go to Offenburg anyway... BUT NOW I AM SO FUCKING SCARED. I just wanted it to be a relaxed stalkerish evening... I so can forget that now :stunned:

I....I.... Ahhhhh!!! LOL

Who else is coming and are gonna to freak out????

it's not far from where I live during the semester...

is there some kind of red carpet where the arriving guests pass by or how did you get to meet those people?

Yeah the performance is confirmed now!

I guess it won't be so easy like it has been at Basel. Cause I arrived there, waited like 1 hour... the the next 2 hours I got almost everything, autographs, photos, I talked to them, touched them. (I'm a freak, I know)

There's no carpet, you have to go to the back door. I was at the "Bambi" this November. That's the same place where "Wetten Dass?!" will take place. I didn't look for the back door, though. From the train station you have to walk like 15 minutes... But since Coldplay is coming now... I have no idea. *is freaking out*

sounds exciting

I don't really know if i can make it there, but I'll think about it ;)

Good evening! :D

Well there's a good description of the show here...

I will have to take a look then!;)

Sadly ZDF doesn't have a line-up for the next show. Their main page only deals with the current show so far. :( Well, then there's room for improvement. Perhaps their lineup changes so quickly, they can't quite know ahead of time?

PS: It was Hamburg indeed! Very interesting city and worth a visit. :)

YES!! It was an excellent show - actually about work challenges, and how challenging maneuvering the ship into the dock was, without hitting the concrete supports near the hull! But they did show quite a bit of the festivities at the port, and a little of the city proper.

 I had a look at the show's Wiki - hilarious! Lighting a cigarette lighter with a backhoe - now that would have been something to see!!:laugh3: And it's funny - I have neighbors who's last name is Gottschalk - I wonder if they're related..:P

Anywhohow, thanks again, Larry - and good luck swimming upstream and pulling that 32 ton barge!:)

Oh crap, I didn't watch it today. Thanks for the news! Then I'll watch it in janurary.

I hope that maybe one Coldplayer will be there to tell us, but I guess it's unrealistic. Maybe if they had said it earlier!

Shit ... why do the 'exciting' guest/musicians always go to cities so far away from where I live :(

With no tickets to attend the show in sight, it would be absolute useless to go there just by chance to get to see them. :(

Awww well :(

Wishing everyone else big luck in meeting/seeing them!

^same here..and I also feel so bad with it :cry2:

It feels like an unused chance to meet them :(

But hey ... :stunned:

That could also mean, that they do some more promo (for whatever song/reason) around that time ...

Maybe 'LIJ' will be released properly in Germany and they do promo for it.

Could also mean, that they will be on 'TV Total' around mid/end January ...

Maybe we should check that with Pro 7 or EMI Germany??? ;)

^:D

stop it I get butterflies in my stomach

besides they were already at 'tv total' this year in june..so I don't think they will come back to this so soon...but who knows the promo thing could be right :)

Anyway, I have contacted EMI Germany via MySpace although I highly doubt that they will get back to me on this one :(

Someone last logged into that account at the beginning of November, so if they take too long, possible promo has already happened when they get back to me :laugh3:

:D at least you tried if it's not going to work ;)

Or you can also put it that way:

I gave them (EMI Germany) something to think about.

If they haven't thought about it themselves, maybe they do it know :laugh3:

Okay, I know that I wouldn't have such an impact on a record company but hey, one can dream ... ;)
