Pseudonym
In VH1's Top 40 Music Videos of the Year, Coldplay's "Viva La Vida" hit the #8 spot on the countdown. During interviews, they were credited as "the best band in the world right now." Congratulations Chris, Jonny, Guy, and Will! Katy Perry's Hit Song "I Kissed A Girl" did manage to beat out Coldplay again.

WV Gal
Actually, the actual comment from the lady was that they were the best band in the universe (so true). I loved how the comedian said that she loved Chris Martin. I do agree with the Entertainment Weekly representative that the video was a good result of combining music and art. FYI....Bleeding Love was the top video of the year and for once Coldplay beat Beyonce.
ricardo
as a video it's ok, but as a song no
BostonSportsTD
viva la vida is one of my all time favorites but no offense to the video it kinda sucks. i just think its boring im surprised it got so high in that countdown...
Corkus
Honestly, I think the Katy Perry video may be better than VLV's video, though neither are that fantastic. The one for Lovers in Japan beats them both, however.
WV Gal
I may be one of the few people who liked the Hype Williams's video for VLV. I'm not saying it's the best video ever made but I don't think it's as bad as some make it out to be. I agree with the lady from Entertainment Weekly that the combining of music and art (colors, cracks in the images) was a good combination. The video goes with Delacroix's art and it's nice. BTW...you can vote for the videos. I have been voting for LIJ every week and so far the video has made it up to #13 on VH1's Top 20 Video Countdown. Interesting to note that under director for LIJ is Malachy McAnney. I wonder why Mat did not use his real name? Oh. Lost and Violet Hill never made the countdown. KM
I wish it were Lovers in Japan! :P I really love that vid. But I'm glad they got something - I'm watching right now waiting for them to come on.
CMJBGBWC
 I agree though, LIJ is a better video.
annabelle
I love the Viva la Vida video! :) It's great that it got some recognition.

Julie
i saw it on tv the other day that girl was like "OMG I love you chris!"
Agna
I think that Lovers In Japan music video is much more better than Viva La Vida too. The song is very good by itself but the video it just does not work.
WV Gal
LIJ may be the better video but it did not make this year's list because it has just entered their Top 20 video countdown. It will qualify for next year's countdown. But, if more people don't vote for it then it won't make the countdown. So far the highest position the LIJ video has achieved is 13, which does not make sense because Beyonce's video for Single Ladies has been much higher and it's just a silly video her dancing. You can vote on VH1's website. It's free and you can vote as many times as you like.
