March 28, 200917 yr Or after college, like I am going to do :lol: Ok, seriously, get calculus or any math, as well as Freshman English out of the way before university. I know a bunch of people who did this through AP, IB, or dual enrollment at the community college, and it helped them get ahead in their major, or double major, or study abroad, or do undergraduate research. I don't understant why there's a 12th grade. Most countries have until 11th grade, and then you start college at 17. The first friend I made in high school when I moved here skipped HS senior year to start at the uni. Yes, she still graduated this December, but she studied in Australia for a semester, did research, and now she will start her PhD in molecular biology in August. In short, get ahead is a good idea :thumbsup: And that i will do:)

Seriously, no challenge at all!! Kinda annoying :( hehehe Youre from Houston or Austin? austin :D It's actually really fun. Just make sure you understand all the concepts (stay after class if you need to) and doing the problems is like solving puzzles, you'll love it. i dont know...i've never been much of a math or science person. im more of a history/english person, and it's easily reflected in my grades. im better at memorizing facts and learning vocab and writing than i am at solving problems like in math or science.

March 28, 200917 yr i dont know...i've never been much of a math or science person. im more of a history/english person, and it's easily reflected in my grades. im better at memorizing facts and learning vocab and writing than i am at solving problems like in math or science. Economics is like in between; I have noticed how some things are explained with definitions or principles, and others can be easily explained with math. It's interesting :thinking: But that helps you figure out what to major in college. Perhaps English or History, or Mass Communications (journalism, TV/Radio broadcasting, advertising, public relations)? You probably don't want anything to do with Engineering, or Biology, Chemistry, Math, or Physics :laugh3:

But it is a reflection of the schools. More importantly its shows the percentage of students who take the test.

Although the dual-enrollment program exists, they barely advertise it, perhaps they don't want students to know that they can start taking classes at the community college in 10th grade, which can fulfill the High school requirements, plus classes and books are paid by the state. I have another friend who did this since 10th grade. she was so far ahead, she started at the uni at 17, changed her major like twice, did an internship program in Tunisia her first summer, and now she's in South Africa for the semester. She's like 20 years old now.

But it is a reflection of the schools. Oh my gosh, the SATs! I moved to America when I was 16, and had no clue what it was. So I took it the spring of my junior year and got an 1190. Then I enrolled in SAT prep classes the fall of senior year, retook in Nov, and got a 1230, which was good enough to get the 4-year scholarship at my uni. Oh, and never prepared for the ACT, got a 27, and I still don't know why or how I did that :laugh3:

I haven't taken an ACT yet but on the PSAT I got the nationwide 99th percentile in math. Reading and grammar I only got around 97th though.
