^Why?

DAMMIT guys my dad just friend requested me on facebook.

I've always said that if either of my parents made a facebook and friend requested me, I'd deny them, but now I kind of feel bad about doing that. But I don't want to be friends with them. They're totally going to creep on my profile. I don't specifically have anything to hide, but there are small things here and there that I would just prefer for him not to see. And it's just a whole "respect my privacy" issue. I don't know. I haven't responded to it yet, but I'm not sure whether I should accept or decline. Maybe I can give him a limited profile access, but that would make him even more suspicious, like I have bad stuff to hide or something.

Because I really want to go on my school's Euro trip to Greece next year but it's like $4000 and I have to pay for it on my own, and pay for my senior trip which is $1000. So I won't be able to go to Greece. And because there's some really snotty rich people in my class who annoy the fuck the out of me. There's this one girl who once spent 2 weeks complaining that her parents are taking her to Mongolia and China in the summer.

So pretty much I just wish I was rich and could buy anything I want and I'm thinking about all the snotty things I've heard rich people say :P

now you know how I felt last year every time my dad requested me :P

At first I accepted and put him on limited, then eventually deleted him, he noticed at one point. I used to get requests from him time to time but it's been awhile now

Did he get mad or offended?

Aw, sorry about that. I kind of get what you mean. My school is in a rich ass community. A hell of a lot of people at my school are very rich. In fact, I'd say confidently that about at least half of my school is considered rich. I'm not in that bit, but my family is definitely upper middle class.

My school is constantly doing all these grand construction projects and remodelings and add-ons. Our football stadium has a jumbotron. :blank:

Not a huge one mind you, but still.

And when most kids here turn 16, they get a new car. New.

It's ridiculous. I swear we can't seem to get rid of our money fast enough.

I'd say more offended. He was like "why didn't you accept me?" or something like that :P I just explained that I wanted privacy and didn't really want him seeing everything I do and seeing what my friends post on my profile and stuff. He got over it eventually.

My town isn't that rich, it's middle class/upper middle class, but there's some rich people. And ugh I know! I fucking hate everyone in my class who got a new car!! I wish I had a car! I have my license but never get to drive because my parents and brother always need their cars :(

A jumbotron? :blank:

hah hah, my school is poor :P It's getting a lot worse too since our governor jacked all our money. Luckily our budget passed but that means taxes go up :\

i would disagree dr. who is the most successful show. the simpsons are the longest running ever. i'd be interested on how they classified it.

oops, sorry, it's technically only the most successful sci-fi series in the world, officially (along with the longest running sci-fi series and other stuff):

* On Sunday 26th July 2009 Guinness World Records recognised Doctor Who as "the most successful sci-fi series [in the world]". Guinness granted the award on the basis of broadcast ratings, DVD sales, book sales merchandise sales and iTunes traffic. Showrunner Russell T Davies accepted the honor on behalf of “Dr Who” creator Verity Lambert in San Diego at Comic-Con, a comic book and art fair event.

"It is too good a show to have just one record," said Guinness editor in chief Craig Glenday. "It's hard to quantify illegal downloads, but we included those as well," Glenday said.

but colloquially it's known as the most successful show ever  regarding The Simpsons, for one, DW's been on for almost 30 years longer plus it has 2 very successful spin-off shows, etc. but I don't know if it's more successful than The Simpsons

hmm, i think the simpsons is also classified weirdly. like the longest running daytime or animated series. :inquisitive:

The Simpsons is the longest-running American primetime, scripted television series, having surpassed Gunsmoke .

Haha well at least you got your license. I haven't done anything about driving since I got my permit back in September. I'm 18. :shame:

And yeah, I'm so glad I got it!! :D

I had to "paint music" today for my history class, kinda like what I did for a project last year... I painted LIT, and it was the most fun I've had in a while!
