English is my second language, I started learning in Kindergarten back in Venezuela, then I moved to the States when I was 16.

I think only Lore (moderator), Pris, Izzy, and Carla write in Spanish to me sometimes.

Otherwise, nobody asks me if I speak Spanish. Oh, wait, Lauren did.

Sí, hasta tengo el teclado en mi computadora para poder poner los acentos y la ñ (mi letra favorita :P)

Well I was born here but english is my 2nd language too(el resultado de tener padres salvadoreños,:lol:).

So you probably started learning English in kindergarten when you were 5, right?

I want to do that with my kids. Only Español at home!

My cousin, who lives in Ft. Lauderdale, gets upset with her husband when he speaks in English to their son. She's like "he can speak English at school, speak only in Spanish to him please" Still, my aunt (the kid's grandma) speaks Spanish, so my lil' cousin has no choice :P

Plus, it's so cute when he talks to me in Spanish on the phone :nice:

Correct, but I started in Pre-Kindergarten:)

Hahaha! That reminds me of my Aunt...."En la casa solo el español."

So what city from Venezuela are you from? Caracas? Maracaibo?

I was born in Maracaibo, but I lived in a smaller city an hour away, where the oil production takes place.

Weirdly enough, I never had the strong accent that people from Maracaibo have, nor use the "vos" much. And whatever maracucho accent I did have has pretty much diminished. My cousins were surprised last time they visited us.

Oh, but I do have an accent when I speak English, people used to tell me it was funny. I dunno why they don't tell me that anymore, I guess is less noticeable now  I liked it, I sounded like Fez from "That's 70 Show" :P

What's popping playas?
