NATALIE IMBRUGLIA and CHRIS MARTIN have been secretly recording together.

The former Neighbours star and the COLDPLAY frontman have collaborated on a string of tracks, which are likely to feature on her forthcoming album.

 

In a break from his group’s studio this month, he filled his time penning tunes with Natalie, who presented the International Group gong to KINGS OF LEON.

 

Afterwards, she did an impressive tour of the parties. First to Shepherd’s Bush to catch Chris and Co’s War Child show.

 

Then she hung out with the Kings and THE KILLERS at the Met Bar.

Coldplay's Chris Martin regrets giving song to Natalie Imbruglia

 

Coldplay's Chris Martin has revealed his dismay at giving Natalie Imbruglia a track that he claims could have been the "best Coldplay song ever".

 

The song is expected to be the first single from Imbruglia's forthcoming new album 'Come To Life', and may be titled 'Scars'.

 

"A bit annoyingly we've given her the best Coldplay song of all time," Martin joked to Heraldsun.com.au. "But because we're off-cycle we can't do it ourselves."

 

He added: "Half of me wishes we still had it. But she sounds fucking brilliant on it. I think she has a very unique talent and an incredibly unique voice."

 

'Come To Life' is expected to be released in May.

Judging by the many fanatic female fans I've encountered, the idea that somebody would turn down a date offer from Chris is absolutely mind-boggling.

 

Sounds like it'll be on her album, not Coldplay's, but I'll obviously still listen. Hope it will turn out better than Lhuna.

Imbruglia is expected to catch up with an old married flame, Coldplay's Chris Martin. The musical pair, who dated in 2001, have rekindled their friendship while working on Imbruglia's new album in London.

Coldplay's Australian tour starts on Friday in Perth before hitting Melbourne next week.

Insiders say Imbruglia is hitching a ride on the first leg of the tour.

Gossips are already using the reunited friendship as the latest ammunition about Martin's marriage to Gwyneth Paltrow. Paltrow has been absent for most of Coldplay's current world tour.

A US act who worked with Martin and Imbruglia last month said the Australian singer was even friendly with Martin and Paltrow's children, Apple and Moses.
