um, because it sounds cool... and I use it on the interwebs, like, constantly. Cuz it's like, noon (which is a good word) and sun (which is good because we couldn't, you know, exist without it) and I like it because it sounds all warm and yellow and nice.

I dunno, I remember as a little kid I would write poetry under the pen name "Peregrine"...

I would choose (what a surprise) Sue de Nimes!

 

It's taken from the movie "Bright Young Things".

An author doesn't want to publish his novel under his real name so chooses the name "Sue de Nimes" because of the likeness (pronounciation-wise) to the word "pseudonym".

 

Speaking of pseudonyms, do you know these "What's your gangsta / pirate / porn star etc. name?" sites?
