Anyway yeah wasn't impressed with the cover. He could have still done a Coldplay song if he wanted...just not Viva La Vida. It's too epic and only Coldplay can pull off that epicness:D:D:D:D

...wow! This is really bad! this guy would've fit right in rockstar supernova. Don't think he's hit a note yet....you know they suck when they start trying to get fancy in their runs in a song that doesn't need it. The reasoning goes: Since I can't hit these simple notes, I'll sing a bunch of other one's, that way it looks like I'm "improvising" or "showing my range".

 

The judges were a little too kind in their criticism. They seem think he's usually a lot better than that performance which wouldn't have been good enough to get him to hollywood in the first place.

This year lot of contestants is "for the birds" if you ask me....

The sad thing is that I actually liked Matt Giraud during Hollywood week. He was great! But, last night...oh gah, I was cringing I finally just fast-forwarded through his performance because I just couldn't bear to listen to that song be butchered like that.

 

Nobody on AI should sing Coldplay songs...they should just be off limits.

Nobody can do Coldplay, but Coldplay

Only chris martin can pull of an epic song like VLV.. its not a singy song...its only for chris martin and his voice suits the song no one else's

His performance just didn't have the passion or energy that Coldplay's does.

I luv coldplay but I cant say the same thing...

Of course ONLY Chris Martins voice can accomplish such a good song

Therefor, I think that if the right person did it the song could have been better but not comparable to Coldplay still I mean no matter who does it will not amaze me how Coldplay does but anyone could do it better than the Guy that did it on American Idol...

So I give the guy an A for picking a good song

I give an F for using Viva lyrics with SOUL...
