I'm a singer-songwriter in LA, and I recorded a cover of The Scientist a few weeks ago. I'd never heard the song before (I don't listen to the radio), and another artist covered it at our show.

 

I spent a week with it bouncing around my head until I finally decided I had to learn it and cover it for youtube before it would leave me alone. ;)

 

I did, and I thought you guys might enjoy it.

 

I apologize if this is the wrong section of the board for a post like this -- mods, please feel free to move it. I also apologize if I'm breaking any community standards by promoting my own music with post #1. Not trying to ruffle any feathers -- I just wanted to see what some serious fans would think of my treatment (I suspect you'll mostly hate it ;)).

hmmmm coming to a Coldplay forum and saying "I don't like Coldplay", not the best thing for your first post. You might want to go back to the start yourself and try something more like...."this is a great song".

No reason why I can't say "I really don't like Coldplay" (although really I meant I don't listen to them and am not really familiar with their music) and "this is a great song".

You can tell you didn't really spend a super-long time on it or anything. That said, it's pretty good. You might do well on American Idol or something (if you have the "personality" or whatever needed for them to keep you on -- that show is so much about ratings it's ridiculous :rolleyes:) You have a pretty good voice. :)

Not a Chris Martin, but you did a pretty good job at the song, Come on now, get on board with this band, I bet ya Chris would think ya did a good job, give them a chance.:) Oh your a cutie too!!!

hm... imo, unfortunatelly it sux.

your voice is really nice and good, but the way you sing is awful, you should learn HOW to sing, because your manners of singing are bad.
