Does anyone have a Blackberry?

Featured Replies

I want to get a new phone. Would like to be able to use it for internet/email, but not bothered about music capabilities as I already have an I-pod.

Was thinking about getting a Blackberry - does anyone around here have one? Would you recommend them?

I used to have a BlackBerry (before i spilled water on it and stupid verizon wouldnt replace it T.T) Its really good if you want to browse the internet on the go as its like a mini computer. it does get troublesome when you put it in your back pocket and it dials numbers, but you get over that. I recommend it because its a great piece of technology and a handy lil tool :) hope that helps

I don't :P

But they look decent enough for emails

Thanks for the reply - does it not have a facility where you can lock the keys? I'd be unlikely to put it in my back pocket, but I guess the same could happen if it was floating around in my handbag

You can lock the keypad but I usually didn't cuz i would txt in class ^^;

My dad has one for work, that I use quite a lot to access this site when we're on vacation. :P I've never had an iPhone, so I don't know how it is comparatively, but from my experience- Blackberries are pretty awesome. And yes, you can lock the keypad!

Well if I can access this site with it, that might be all the push I need :D

Do you find it easy to use, because I can be a bit dumb where technology is concerned?

Haha, yes, it's quite easy to use! It's more or less like a computer, just with a small screen and a little touch scrolly thing (:P) instead of a mouse.

I have one and I love it. The keypad is great for texting, websurfing, emailing, etc. I can type on it very simply and its quick too. I would recommend it if you're using it for the internet. I have the Blackberry 8320, but I think they have a newer one available now.

I have BlackBerry Curve 8330- and I am in LOVE!!! Its great for your emails as you can intergrate it for up to 10 emails! Quick net surfing, and texting is awesomely awesome. Keyboard took a little getting use to since I was so accustomed to hitting the numbered keys mutiple times for a letter on my old phone lol but its easy to get use to. And here is my biggest downfall and weakness... TWITTER!! they have different apps for Twitter on BB but the best one seems to be Twitterberry. :)

I don't know how I ever managed without my BB! LOL I love it.. :) but be sure to get a decent data plan, because its very easy to go kookoo on it. :embarassed:

I wish I had a Blackberry - but they are too expensive and I don't actually need one.

But would be awesome, then I can be on the internet anywhere!

I've got the BlackBerry Pearl 8100. I've had it for two years now and it is awesome, though I'm looking to get the new BlackBerry Curve 8900. Among other things, it's got Wi-Fi, GPS and an awesome 3.2 mp camera with auto-focus and image stabilization, which is pretty great for a phone. Anyway, I would definitely recommend BlackBerry. There's just so many things that you can do with a BlackBerry that there's no reason to ever go back to a regular cell phone. And now that BlackBerry has their own app store, it's a lot easier to find tons of great apps for your BB. I recommend Shazam, Viigo and the Google Search App. The search by voice feature they've got now on it is pretty cool. =)

I should probably change the thread title. I have since bought a BlackBerry curve and I love it - although I'm only very slowly learning how it all works

Have no idea what Shazam or Viigo are...

^^Awesome. =) Which Curve? Oh, oops. Shazam is a great app that identifies songs from the radio, TV, movies, and so on. It also shows you where to buy them and find similar songs. Love it. Straight from the Viigo website, "In one simple, fully customizable application, Viigo delivers news, weather, flight schedules and status, real-time sports scores, stock quotes and market data, entertainment, hotel and restaurant reviews, blogs, and much more".

Yeah, it's the 8900 that I've got. I love it - even if I do only know a fraction of it's capabilities so far :p

^^Oh, lucky you! That's the one I'm planning on getting. =) haha, don't worry so much about that. You'll pick it up fast. I'm still learning about a couple of things you can do a BlackBerry. =P
