Summer Setlist different than first two legs of tour? [2009]

Featured Replies

Hey guys,

My friends and I went to the November 3rd show in Detroit in 2008, and we absolutely loved it. We bought tickets and we are ready to go again on June 2nd in Detroit. My question is, do you think the setlist will be pretty different than the first concert? Obviously new songs have came out, so I assume some Prospekt's March will be on there. I'm just hoping to see a little mix up so we don't hear practically identical concerts.

it friggin better be, shake it up boys! more old stuff please

yeah, i think i'm more of a fan of their older stuff, nothing to take away from viva la vida, it's just that there are three older albums and only one new one, two if you count the EP.

maybe swallowed in the sea? :)

lovely song, but i am the one with the warining sign petition, reminds me to go bump it, thanks

Much much more old stuff is needed. And they need to bring back the fantastic electric guitar of Talk please!

oh, i totally agree...I'm hoping they play swallowed in the sea as well! :D

i think they will play their older songs, there's just no way they're going to do a repeat of the last leg of the tour. So hopefully surprises and new additions will be in store for us!

Back in April, I read in that interview that Guy did with Coldplay.com that said that they will be doing a longer set and bringing back songs they haven't played in awhile i.e.: warning sign, a rush of blood to the head, sparks and white shadows.

I really hope to hear them do "Prospekt's March", it is such a gorgeous song.

If they play a rush of blood live i will flip. That song is the friekin greatest live. (Goes to watch Live 2003 DVD) haha.

This is very intriguing to me and I wish to subscribe to that newsletter.

edit: nevermind, I found it!

I guess the setlist will change a bit for the stadium shows, maybe with more songs from the previous albums ! And according to Guy, the shows

may last a little longer too ! ^^

They'll add to the Arena shows too. They have played the same set in North America twice now.

Im hoping for a loooong U2/Springsteen/NIN show. Then I will enjoy myself. Also since Im seeing them back to back, maybe play 3-4 old songs one night, then 3-4 different old songs the next.

As long as Politik stays, I am happy!

I really hope the setlist changes a little. I was on wiki and I saw the setlist from the Ahu Dabi concert and it looked okay but not what I'd call perfect. Oh well, either way I'm sure I'll enjoy the show.

oh I hope so!! at least max. 2 1/2 hrs, lol. At the show I went to, I felt that it went by wayy too fast (maybe b/c my friend and I were having too much fun :D)
