country threads are on international section but anyways....

what i know about sweden is that:

is a country located in north europe, due to that they have cold weather most of the year, educational system is good one and they are able to speak swedish and english fluently.

oh, yes you're right.. this should be at international.. can I move it somehow?

everything you wrote was right :)

and I also know that you know about Fever Ray.

mods can move it. :)

and i think there's already a sweden thread, so surely it'll be merged.

hehe that's true too. ;)

well there's another thing related with my country and Sweden but may be you won't like it.

there's like a set phrase here saying:

hacerse el sueco / hacerse la sueca

meaning like you pretend you don't know something. (like when someone asked you to do them a favour and they didn't do it and disappeared for a while).

is due to tourism here, in the 70's there were many swedish girls and guys here...

we had fun with our swedish colleague at uni with that sentence. :p

Everyone saunas completely naked and goes around singing Abba songs all day!!:P

  • Author

Haha, well the sauna-thing could be true.. I don't really know. I never sauna. :laugh3:

But saunas is more Finland I think. ;)

And the Abba part is a bit true. Since the Mamma Mia-movie all the girls in my school sings Abba all the time and it makes my maaaad. I can't stand Abba!

some friends were talking randomly one said the sentence and then the swedish came like she were angry and told us: what's up with swedish people? we aren't stupid" and we were like :uhoh:

obviously she knew about the sentence ;) and so pretended she was angry. :)

oh, mando diao! :nice:

will you tell us more about your country? :nice:

Your country is right besides Norway (woho), Finland, almost Denmark and a little of Russia?

Capital is Stockholm.

And your candy is awesome and cheap :D!

You guys invented Ikea

And on that basis you guys are the best in the world

oh yeah i watched a reportage one day in a french tv about students of highschool there,

and oh my god :stunned:

it's totally different from here, the material-goods that schools own there and the way of education very different, students are all around guided and suported by professors, that's pretty awesome, here's not the same :dozey:

and the number of languages you learn there,

they showed 5 students from that highschool who can speak at least 4 languages without any difficulties

i remember the day after that i met my friend in our uni and she asked me if i watched that reportage and as i said yes we look to each other and said at the same time "life is unfair" :laugh3: i can hear it now honestly as it happened few seconds ago :P

honestly i think the education there is the best one ;)

our mate says that there you get text books in your school once the year start, and you have to pay nothing for them (just in case you damage them intentionatelly).

i wish we have that here.

@kite

true. ;)

@ze_scientist and ari

haha, yes the education here is very good. :D

does it cost to go to school in your countrys? how much?

Errr acording to Bill Bryson, you guys have a high rate of suicide :uhoh:

And I also know that I'm going to Stockholm this summer

it's ok you can say something new in every post :P

and as for your question:

well i think it doesn't cost a thing  only private of course

but i know for unies ( if you haven't got a scholarship) you pay, for instance i paid 396 euros for the whole year

yay for stockholm strawberryfields. :D

well here officially studying in school and secondary is free, but that's not true, is free as we don't have to pay the teachers salary (the State pays them), but we do have to pay our books, and it can be like 100-150€ per kid each year. :\

for our secondary degree we didn't need to pay anything,

but for uni and last 2 years of high school (which are not compulsory), we have to pay a lot, and for the exam to get to uni we have to pay and to get our bachiller degree too, that is like 50+40 euros...
