TheNextChris
Hey everyone. I am going camping in Wisconsin for a week in July. There will be 300 other teenage boys ( Boy Scouts ) , and I am thinking of taking my new Walden D550E with me to camp. However, I am afraid to leave it in my tent all day, because it could get stolen or damaged, but I'm afraid of leaving it in the car, because the heat could damage it. Any suggestions? Twizted Logik
Don't bring it, or find out if there is as safe building to lock it in nearby.
TheNextChris
I guess I'll just bring my harmonica ( once I learn to play ) . I have a feeling, in those rickety canvas tents, that don't even have a zipper, the wood would get warped. And some kids would steal it, then hang it in a tree, like my friend did to my shovel once. It would just get warped in the car. I'd rather spend a week without my guitar than come home with a dirty, misshapen bug filled guitar, even though music is my coffee. It's also better than everybody shouting "STAIRWAY" or "FREEBIRD." I don't expect that people would shout "YELLOW" or "SCIENTIST" :P As for the safe building, I'm not sure if they would let me keep it in the main office, then pick it up at night, and drop it off in the morning or something. Keeping it with me overnight is an issue, because I don't plan to sleep in a tent, I'll jsut keep my stuff in one. I'll be in a hammock next to one. I should email the camp. princesanji
yes, better ask them what to do! though BEST is always to bring nothing, however i'd recommend to leave your guitar at home and bring your harmonica. you can practise all day! (well i dunno what boy scouts are or what they do***, but if you have a minute or two, you just pull the harmonica out of your pocket and play!) *** well, english isn't my native language (can i say that?), i an only guess what boy scouts are... those guys in the forest, learning how to survive more or less, playing weird/childish games (no offense, really), selling cookies and stuff like that in order to raise some money for whatever, a new boat, achieving badges for certain things and in the evening sitting around a campfire singing campfir songs.... ? would that fit? Boy Scouts -guys in the forest YES -learning how to survive YES -weird/childish games SOMETIMES -selling cookies NO ( Girl Scouts typically sell cookies ) We also get to shoot things with rifles and shotguns. We also go into caves and do generally dangerous stuff. As for weird and childish games. All are at least one of those two. We played one where we had to hide from a guy with a flashlight, and my friend who is about 4' 7" hid under my dads car. It is better than church camp, where they made us play a weird and childish game called Boofers. The best way to describe it is they beat us with socks filled up with flour. :P In other words, Boy Scouts are nerds who don't mind being in tents and getting soaked. fakfak
Even if your guitar is not stolen/lost, humidity is the biggest enemy of an acoustic guitar. Personally, I wouldn't expose an acoustic to any kinnd of outdoor conditions for a prolonged length of time.
