Recommend Me An Album That Will Blow My Mind

Featured Replies

This first thing that came to mind when you said "blow my mind" was Grizzly Bear's Veckatimest - probably because of the music video for Two Weeks. If that's not mindblowing I dont know what is.

Also, everyone everywhere needs to listen to Expatriate. Their album In The Midst Of This sounds like all of the bands you mentioned initially and more. It does get a little noisy at times but I think it's the perfect record pretty much.

Very true, but it is a difficult album to get into, and it's not really rock except for a few songs. Too slow I think for what this person is looking for.

Too slow... :inquisitive: Not all Jeff's songs are 'slow'...Plus, she likes Coldplay, U2, Keane, Radiohead,....kinda same genre here...CP have been hugely influenced by Jeff ('Shiver' people?!!) So I maintain my advice ;)

Kent's Du & jag döden

"described by the band as dark and depressing"

and Isola. just not the english version because kent in english is just not right

Yes, go over to the Kent side! ;)

And I agree Kent in English is just not right.

I would also recommend Fever Ray! I cant really describe her so you just have to listen instead. She is one part from the band The Knife.

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4F-CpE73o2M&feature=related]YouTube - Fever Ray 'When I Grow Up'[/ame]

The album is named Fever Ray, as her artist name.

The Yippee EP - Nevershoutnever!

Please?

I feel like I am in a bit of a music rut.

Something slow, but still quite heavy. Lol, I dunno what I mean. Basically not all frantic with too many instruments and too much noise. One that has meaningful, kind of sensitive lyrics that will put me in either a depressed or thoughtful mood.

Some bands in this style that I like for reference : Coldplay, White Lies, U2, Killers, KoL, Keane, Radiohead, etc etc.

I wouldn't even mind something a lot more upbeat like Franz Ferdinand, as long as it's brilliant.

So what am I missing out on? I don't care if the album is old or whatever. I just want music that's new to ME.

Check out Idlewild.
