One of my favorite religious parables is the mustard seed. Because mustard seeds are really, really small, but they grow into trees. The lesson is that if you have the faith of the mustard seed, anything can be accomplished.

It has a sort of special meaning for me, because when my mom was pregnant they initially thought I had down syndrome. They had to do a bunch of tests to confirm it, and while waiting for the test results she carried around a mustard seed.

How can they tell ahead of time if you have Downs?

Down's is a trisomy of the 21st chromosome, so they can just do a karyotype.

I am presbeterian. But nothing real hardcore. Not like me preaching at people that if they don't become christian or presbeterian that they are going to go to hell or something like that..... But yes, I could consider myself religious...
