I've heard and said that joke in front of plenty of religious people and they don't care. If you find what I said offensive, it means you have a lack of confidence in your religion. If someone calls me stupid I won't be offended since I know it's not true. But if someone says I suck at guitar, I might get annoyed as I am not so confident in my guitar playing. The only time people can't laugh at a joke is when they are concerned that their might be truth behind it.

Yep, priests and preachers are just people who try to HELP you interpret Jesus, but in the end it's about your own relationship with him and how YOU interpret his teachings.

Yes. Teenagers perceive religion as weak and often effeminate. At my school a lot more girls are religious than guys. It also is affected by who you're around. The hindu/muslim kids I know are much less faithful than the Christian kids, because they're not around very many other hindu/muslim kids.

I go to a Catholic school but less than 10% I would say are actually practising catholics. Then you get the people who believe some of it but not all of it and then the people who think it is a heap of shit. I know a few people in my class are very outspoken about how sexist Catholicism is.

My dad raised me non religious because he wanted me to make my own decisions when I got older. Which I think was a good thing to do. To be raised into a religion is for me very wrong.

 

I wouldn't say I belong in one religion.

i'm an atheist. i suppose that e.g. jesus and buddha were a real ace guys with a meaning, but what people made out of their ideas is, well you all know...

if everybody would stand in for her/ his decisions, which you need to, when without some obscure daddy in the sky, this world might be a bit of a better place.

 

edit: there is no god in buddhism, so that concept makes much more sense for me than any other, but humans still managed to make a pretty twisted thing out of buddhist teachings.

Many of my friends are raised that way, I like it, because they seem not to be close-minded or intolerant towards me - as a religious (but in my own way) person.

A lot of the girls that go to my school pretend to be religious, but they're really not. They'd rather be whoring around and shit, then jump on me when I swear in class. :rolleyes:
