Are you a good driver?

Featured Replies

good but not safe.

i'm a very careful driver but i'm absolutely rubbish and lost in bigger cities. at least that's what i think, 'cause i've actually never tried :P

That's contradictory. If you're good + careful, you're safe.

i don't know. as i've said, i'm really scared when it comes to bigger cities - so i probably wouldn't be a safe driver there. you can make mistakes even when you're careful.

Ok then that means you suck at driving.

Good but not safe means that you're a good driver, but you choose to do unsafe things such as speeding.

speeding isn't unsafe.

Only if you go over the top and speed on dangerous road, but what's the hazard of doing say 90mph on an empty motorway in the dead of night?

speeding isn't unsafe.

It can be. I was just throwing out an example. I mean driving 45 in a neighborhood with kids playing would be considered unsafe.

Nothing, I was just providing an example.

right.

but i'm good at the place i live and around here - i'm good when it comes to familiar routes. so i won't say i suck. maybe i'm sth in between? good but scared?

anyway ;D

i can drive, lol.

What I'm trying to say is that there are two categories:

Safe/unsafe

Good/bad

She said she was a good driver but unsafe. Then she said she was very careful. That's contradictory.

right.

okay, so maybe unsafe isn't the right word and it should be insecure.

but then again, insecure probably isn't safe :laugh3:

:p I see what you're saying.

oh come on

that was like the best explanation ever :P

You're where the wild things are! That movie is going to be awesome.

I take more risks when it's only me in the car than if I'm with other people.

I absolutely hate driving in cities, and if I don't know where I'm going that's somewhere out of my usual home areas, I like to have someone with me to direct me and read directions. I really need to get a GPS. However, if I've been somewhere once, as passenger or driver, I can get there again no problem.

I also am usually weirdly nervous when I have a passenger. I feel like I'm a good driver, but when someone else is in the car, I feel like they're watching my every move, and that makes me do more stupid things, like cutting people off or parking badly.

Miss Connecticut, I think that's mostly true for most of us!;) And Dave, I do the same - without passengers, I tend to rev it up a little more.

I've been compared to Dustin Hoffman in Rainman, esp. the part where Dustin keeps saying to his brother: "I'm a good driver".. which is true, mainly because Dustin has never gone farther in the car than around the block & up the driveway!

But actually I'm alright, except when I have to go anywhere with my brother - it's like driving a staff car for the General then, and the General likes to give orders! (turn here! No dummy, get in this lane! Use the frontage road - it's quicker!!) - he drives me nuts sometimes..:dozey:

I don't imagine you driving at anything other than the posted speed limit. :p

David=:angel:

Chances are coming back from basingstoke the next 2 nights after U2 on the M3/A303 I will be doing 80mph+

Depends on traffic though.

Is that so,that would be almost top speed,no?
