Cherokee Indian is also called Native American

America is a continent, not a single country.

 

So, Americans = North american + central american + south american people

North America = Continent

South America = Continent

America =/= Continent

No, more like Europe and Asia. North America and South America are two clearly differentiated continents. However the term 'american' without anything before it generally refers to the US of America.
