bump... seeing them saturday!

(also i find it funny looking back on this thread how pretty much almost all the posts are by me )

they're the main act.

the opening bands are: Sea Wolf and Gregory and the Hawk

i have heard of them but haven't listened to them

someone bumped this thread besides me...haha!

it was a great show! they sounded so much like they do on the album. Also they had like a 4 piece orchestra, so the band sounded even more full. The ambiance of the whole show was just great!

the setlist was:

1. Perro

2. Blank Pages

3. There is a Wind

4. Within Dreams

5. Falling From the Sun

6. Stand Still

7. Twenty-Two Fourteen

8. The Outer Banks

9. Shine

10. Until the Last

11. We Are

12. Vermillion

13. Almost There

14. Wherever I Go

Encore:

15. Always For You

16. Red-Eye

17. Tied Knots

best songs were: Red-Eye, Vermillion, Wherever I Go, Tied Knots, Falling From the Sun and Shine.

Tied Knots was such a great closer. It's such a great/beautiful song that seeing it live to close the show was kind of bittersweet. Honestly every song was great, even songs that I think are too popish by them (always for you, twenty two fourteen), gave me a much better appreciation for those ones.

Here are some of the best pics I took (my camera isn't so great):

you should think about seeing them... they are so good live, very chill and also a great price too (i think tickets were like less than 20 bucks... including ticketmaster surcharges)

wow, sounds awesome. A shame they aren't coming to Tennessee, I'd love to see them, but it would require a trip down to Atlanta which is a stretch for me.

It'd be cool if they played Bonnaroo for you since that's in Tennessee. Speaking of which have you ever gone to Bonnaroo? I really want to go someday (as well as coachella, glastonbury, lollapalooza, etc)

I'm really embarrassed to say I haven't, mainly because I haven't had anyone to go with the past few years. However I am dying to go either this year or the next as I've finally met some guys at college with similar tastes who are probably going.

Just recently started listening to these guys... the music's really pretty, and it's perfect to study to! :wacky:

Is it lame that I never study to "studying music"... I have a studying playlist and it's basically all punk rock to make me feel badassed...

^^Haha! Whatever works for you, really!

I personally can't listen to anything too upbeat or with too many words because my brain then focuses on that and I can't think. So this stuff is pretty much perfect for me...

But hey, if feeling badass helps you study...

Yeah I think the two most played songs for me when studying are I Will Survive for when I'm cramming and... uh, Highway to Hell, lolz

^hardcore studying that is. For casual studying I'll usually put on some soft indie-rock or a catchy instrumental. If I really need to get something done though I switch to the beatless, uber minimalist, paint-drying ambient. i.e. william Basinski, Eno, Matt Cooper, Kyle Bobby Dunn, Stars of the Lid etc.

Wow I'm just listening to The Album Leaf for the first time, it's so good!

The name of this band has been written on a one of my "to-listen" post-its for months but I never took the time to listen to it until now. If only I had known it was this good, I would have listened to it so much earlier ! :bomb:

Really really beautiful stuff! Thanks "the_gloaming09" (Mike? lol) and Tnspieler1012 for posting some songs in this another "relaxing music" thread :nice:!

So, anyone wants to help and tell me which album I should listen to first?

I think that Into the Blue Again or a Chorus of Storytellers would be the best to start with.

A Chorus of Storytellers is not their best material, but I think is fairly accessible.

In a Safe Place.

Or that one as well.

Any one of those 3 would be good to listen to first

I listened to Into The Blue Again and it was good. Easy to the ears, and relaxing and a difference from music with lyrics (though there are some like that). Very nicely done. I would like to listen to it again to get a better feel of it.

They're coming to Malaysia. :wacky:

I'm planning to go, anyone else been to a concert of theirs before?

After hearing so many good things about them on here (would have never discovered them elsewhere), I finally went ahead and downloaded a couple Album Leaf songs a few weeks ago. Really gorgeous stuff (especially "Twenty Two Fourteen") that's perfect for when I need to relax. When I have spare time, I'm gonna listen to a full album of theirs. Thanks for bringing them to my attention, guys. ;)

yeah... really great live! extremely chill, but awesome live musicians

Thanks Mike. I hope I get to go.
