Same here, our math teacher doesn't actually teach us anything, just gives us the assignments.

But after a couple of days later and I've completely forgotten how to do them or I've got one type of equation mixed up with another :wreck:

 

So in other words, I have a shit memory for numbers :lol:

The answer book says;

 

Let x= the 2004 cost.

x+3.1%(x)=36.78

x+3.1(0.01)(X)=36.78

1x+.031x=36.78

1.031x=36.78

x=36.78/1.031=35.67

 

Where dose the (0.01) come from?
