It's my best friend. He can be awfully hard on himself at times, and he told me tonight that he thinks he's a failure. He has Asperger's, too, so that means he has difficulty seeing other points of view. He's not a failure. I've known him for only 19 months, but I look up to him so much. He's understanding; he's been more supportive of me in the time we've known each other than my own fucking parents. He means so much to me, and I just wish I could make him see it. He's not a failure. He's not worthless. He's my lifeline...

I don't get the chance to speak to him again until Sunday afternoon, but if he's still feeling like that, I'm going to let him know how I feel about him. I can often never find the words to cheer him up when he hits a slump, but I have to let him know that I'm worried about him, I care for him and I don't give a fuck about myself so long as he's okay. He's the strongest person I know, and so long as he's here, I know there's hope for me.

 

He pretty much rescued me from doing something terrible to myself last October, and again in January, and I've never forgotten that. If he can keep going, through all the shit that his life's thrown at him, I'm sure I can.
