nothing is sup, I've been lazing around the house reading fancy books and listening to classical music all day. and I went to my friend's piano recital and he was AMAZING. it's all very bohemian. :charming:

if only I had a foreign kind of coffee and some white wine

I've been lazing around listening to film scores all day and reading LOTR. :|

Piano music is like, hnnnng.

Wine tastes so bad. :|

Yes, classical music.

haha well I watched Amadeus for the first time last night and then by the end of the movie (after I came out of my post-movie reverie) I was like "you know... nobody has actually ever been better than Mozart since him, at all... CONCERTO TIME ". it's been a lovely experience.

I want to see that. :freak:

Oh god you have to. Make sure you watch the Director's Cut and have 3 solid hours where it will be dark and quiet and nobody will bother you and you can play it very very loudly. I was completely mesmerized the entire time. Unbelievably good movie. Would have killed if anyone distracted me from the experience while I watched it.

Are you being sarcastic? :uhoh:

Because I actually hated that movie.

Although, Sara, I suggest for you to listen to Holst's First Suite in Eb. We had to play that last semester, and I have some srs love for that song.

What? How did you hate it??

haha I realize that I was so gushing about it it may have sounded like I was being sarcastic but... I just don't think I've ever enjoyed a movie so much. It was really powerful.

Oh wow! Sorry, it's fine if you like it, I just couldn't stand it. :P

I don't even know why, I usually love movies like that, but the I really could not stand the guy that played Mozart. :|

Maybe I'll give it a proper watch at home some time as opposed to in band class.

Well, I wouldn't have wanted to watch it in class :P

I guess it just didn't hit home with you, that makes sense, because Tom Hulce played a pretty irreverent Mozart with a really annoying laugh and all that got on a lot of peoples' nerves, most of my friends who've watched it loved the way he played him though (and I obviously did as well). That was partially a historical thing though, cuz if I'm not mistaken he actually did (according to letters his friends wrote, etc) have that laugh.

I dunno, the film just has so many allegories and imagery and it's just directed so well. I found it pretty deep and powerful.

To each his own, though!
