I have finished my high school last year (I'm 18 this year) and now I'm doing American degree transfer program for 2 years before flying to the States :D

How about you?

Finishing my final year this year, I got a uni who replied to my inquiry today and they seem pretty helpful :)

Don't go to London.

how come? :stunned:

Because everything's ridiculously expensive there. I think you'd probably be better off in a different city.

Suggest me some good schools in the States :cheesy:

That's exactly what my teacher said to me last year. :\

Don't you think it's really hard to get enrolled into Northeastern?

That university reminds of Sodom and Gomorrah

Suggest me some good schools in the States :cheesy:

there are tons of good schools in the States, you'd be better off narrowing it down to a region you'd like to be in and searching from there. Many of the state school systems (for example University of California, U of Texas) are excellent and have branches all over that state.

Also, if you have an idea of what you'd like to study, you can find out which specific schools have better programs in that field.

good luck! :)

I'm planning to major in Geology or maybe Geography, some said University of Colorado-Boulder is one of the best schools. Is it true?

I'm browsing the website right now, Nick. :)

I suggest harvard

How annoying, the best places always cost the most :(

Maybe I could look at the states...

Yeah! Let's go to the States! :cheesy:

Hehe :P I'm still mainly looking at London, just until I know for sure I won't be able to go there haha

^ You might wanna consider other British universities.

Have you done some research about university fees? I think overseas students pay like twice as much as we do.:embarassed:

yeah i've looked at a few others, i landed on this particular one because it seemed like the best one in terms of helping international students with visas, accommodation and so on.

as for fees, yeah i think this one charges a bit extra, maybe not double though. but it's definitely a lot more expensive than studying at home :(

A note on expenses about university overseas, based on my experience.

I'm an American who attends an American university/college. My tuition is about $42,000/year. The coming year, I am attending a British university. Because I'm going on a program based out of my American university/college, I'm still paying $42,000/year to go to the British uni, even though if I were to directly enroll in the British uni, it would probably cost me less than $10,000/year.

I know America has the reputation for having the best universities in the world (for the most part), but honestly, the price you pay for it is a TOTAL and COMPLETE rip-off. I'm not saying don't look at American universities, I'm just saying beware of how much more money you'll be shelling out if you go to one, versus a comparable school in the UK or Canada or other countries.

To the thread author: I'm attending a British university for the coming year (perhaps longer), so if you have questions, feel free to ask me anything :nice:. Since I haven't started just yet, I could mostly answer things about visas and other preparations (and boy do I have a lot to say about that hellish process :P), but feel free to ask, and I could probably find out .

42,000 per year? that's crazy!
