Hard to beat it. It was one of the first Songs from VLV that leaked and right away listening to it for the first time, I knew it was going to be one of the better songs on the album

Yea, but only the beginning leaked (on Grey's Anatomy). I remember everyone arguing over what the song title was lol

it was on grey's anatomy!

i used to watch that show all the time!

omg when that bomb was in the guy, that was so freaking intense :wideeyed:

haven't watched it in a while

im more of an "the office/scrubs" girl :smug2:

^I don't watch that show, I was just pointing out that the song premiered on there.

So many damn idiots call themselves "fans" now because they heard that song. It just pisses me off when that song gets more crowd response than their better songs like Death And All His Friends, Lovers In Japan, and Life in Technicolor.

Really? I've encountered more people who think that Coldplay suck, but enjoy Viva La Vida & Violet Hill, and would never dream of saying that they thought of themselves as fans.

You also have to understand that Viva La Vida is basically an anthem/stadium rock song... it's supposed to get more response than DAAHF, LIJ, and LIT. If you listen to the original album recording, then the 2008 concert version, and finally the 2009 concert version, you'll see that the band has catered to the crowd by changing the song a little (adding a chant before Chris starts singing for example), while keeping the DAAHF, LIJ, and LIT the same. I personally enjoyed the fact that the crowd got wild during Viva La Vida at my last concert and stayed more mellow during the 3 aforementioned songs.

Your first sentence helps prove my point. It's the popular song. The one for the untrue fans.

VLV is most certainly NOT a stadium rock song. Most of the instruments aren't even played live! It's meant for the studio. Sure, it's cool when people get into it, but they should be getting into other songs.

what do you mean proves your point?

like that is only the non fans favorite song?

it lead me to be a fan, but thats not my favorite song

Hehe I am not trying to get into anything guys :\, but VLV is a Coldplay song, no matter how big it is. To be a true fan you have to like Coldplay because of the feelings their music gives you, because you love them for making such incredible songs, because their songs are actually those emotions you can never put a name to. Not because they won a couple grammys and became winners of the song of 2008. So it doesnt matter how big the song is, just the reason why you like it. It doesnt matter how you became a fan, it only matter the reasons you became a fan ;)

(If you like only 1 song or if you like 587, it doesnt really matter guys :smug:)

Exactly. And hey guys if you dont want people to like big Coldplay songs, like VLV and Clocks, then you won't be supporting their careers :annoyed: LOL I just thought of that :dozey:
