 i learned a new swear word today :smug:

The stuff you stated is true, although I don't mind Guy not being a raging alcoholic anymore.

I still adore Coldplay, I don't care who Chris Martin hangs out with, as long as they keep making good music. :nice:

Well, why is being friends with Jay-Z a bad thing? He's an incredibly talented rapper, and that is not a compliment I give out very often, nor one that most fans of good music will give out and yet he is one of the huge exceptions. The only reason Chris' friendship with him has gotten more press time than his friendship with the boys from Ash is because, unfortunately, Ash isn't terribly popular on this side of the pond. Whereas Jay-Z is one of the biggest names in the industry no matter where you live.

And just because Chris likes Beyonce and talks about enjoying her music, do you know who he'll still say Coldplay's music sounds like and will continue to sound like? Radiohead. Those are the two points I found most ridiculous, but y'know, everyone is entitled to their opinions, you all just can't get mad when people try to argue them. Especially not on the internet.

Fan loyalty? We're not going to drink their kool-aid and love everything they do no matter what just because it's Coldplay. It's just constructive criticism.

How is what you listed constructive criticism? If it was constructive you could have also listed some of the things you would like to see on their next tour or album, etc so they can take it in and improve. That's just bashing.

And no one give me that "Oh, they should just do another AROBTTH!" I'm tired of that. :dozey: Coldplay are constantly evolving and changing. And I don't give a flying fuck if Chris Martin hangs out with Jay-Z and Beyonce, that doesn't mean he doesn't still chill with the singer from Ash or worship Radiohead. The Radiohead worship was getting old anyway; it's great that they aspire to make good music like them and have a hardcore fanbase, but we really don't need another Radiohead.

Sorry for the rant.

Ok so what if it's bashing? I'm tired of every single fucking thread being about how much girls want to have their cherries popped by Chris Martin. All of a sudden someone points out a few flaws of the band, and everyone shows up QQing. I don't show up in every single other thread on this forum QQing.

Guy was never a raging alcoholic though.

I knowwww Guy wasn't a raging alcoholic, the guy said "Guy used to be a raging alcoholic diva, now..." and that's just how I responded. The man just liked to drink, Jesus.

Man, I'm gone for a couple of months and everyone's treating me like a noob.

Edit: I like your siggy. :cheesy:

I understand, there are some hardcore fangirls (or guys, if that's your thing) on here. But you can't expect all of us to be on the same page. I respect your opinion and I'm just voicing mine.

No harm in that.

I wonder if The Beatles would have this kind of thing if they existed in the digital era.... Probably so :D

Yeah I know, Guy just liked to sit and chill with drinks a little more than the average person maybe :P

And thanks.

I know your not a noob, if that counts.... I've seen your older posts b4

Thank you. :nice: Last thing I want is to be mistaken for one!

We all have things we don't like about Coldplay and even other bands. Like, I'm not really into the costumes, what's up with that? But they can do what they want, and we can take it or leave it.

Why?

They used to be rock, now they're pop.

They use to be endearingly self-depricating, now it just seems insincere.

Chris used to hang out with Tim from Ash, now it's Jay-Z.

Guy used to be a raging alcohol diva, now he just takes photos.

It used to go "I'm gonna buy a gun and start a war, if you can tell me something worth fighting for", now it goes "those who are dead are not dead, they're just living in my head."

They used to wear pants and a t-shirt, now they wear costumes.

Jonny used to have his amazing slide solos, now he gets nothing.

Chris used to idolize Radiohead, now he idolizes Beyonce.

Chris used to be able to hit all the notes, now he just dances.

Add on to the list you guys.

Jonny used to be shy..now he dances:P

I have mixed feelings. I'm a fan of both Jay and Kanye so I like the influence Coldplay has on them.

I hated the costumes at first, but after a while it grew on me.

I do feel like Chris Martin messes up more often during VLV performances, than he has in past tours.

I do like the huge extravagance of the VLV tour however, because I am just a big concert type of person.

Viva La Vida took a while for me to get used to (like a week.), but then afterward I just felt like it was a really good album, and X & Y also took a while for me to get used to, and it might just be my favorite album of theirs. (or maybe ROBTTH)

I don't feel like they've sold out, if that's what you are trying to come across, but I feel like they've just matured a little bit, in both musical style and personal preference.

I feel it's okay though, plus they have said that LP5 will me more mellow than VLV, and I expect the tour will probably be a lot more like Twisted Logic.

I did feel the all black look with the Adidas Superstars, more mellow, and less screaming girls tripping out over the colors and shit.

but I guess it's fine though, they're just doing what they want to do. but I do feel some of you who hate those girls who get their panties wet over their looks, rather than their playing, and don't even know half the songs on the set lists, or if they do, they don't know any of the non-VLV songs. Which is why I never take a girl on a date to a concert...worst experience ever.

Stopped reading there. Please, just leave.

O Really? :dozey:

alot of hate there. But Jay-Z is one of the most legendary active rapper right now. Reasonable Doubt was a classic. Kanye's College Dropout was sick too, both one of the few rappers who can actually give quality performances, as well as still make good music.

You're in the wrong forum man. This is a music forum, not a rap forum. Rap is half the reason our kids are fucking morons.

Not all rap is bad though. The rap songs that are just about cars, money, and girls are the reason why kids are morons these days, not Jay-Z. And even Kanye has his good moments.

Yeah, that's true, I'm not a fan of either but there are worse rappers out there.

I like Kanye but man.. he is over his head..seriously...
