A Question...

Featured Replies

Today in English, our teacher asked us a very indepth question that could be simpler but depending on your personal way of thinking could also be difficult to choose.

So what what do you think and explain why you think this way...

I just put up the poll, you could've waited a sec.

Intentionally torturing animals cos you meant to do it. And in the other it was an accident..

Yea what the hell, easy question.

Well, that's what it seems like but it's not as simple as you think. The class was pretty divided... Some saying "fuck PETA, they're making a big deal out everything blah blah blah" "a person's life is more important than an animal..." ya know...

I'm not a huge supporter of PETA, but come on, if they're trying to stop animals from being tortured then good for them.

How often do people accidentally kill someone? Not much, and there's not much we can do to prevent it, aside from making cars safer and stuff. Torturing animals, on the other hand, can be stopped, and it's usually a sign of a mental disorder.

what you do intentionally for bad reasons is always worse than what could happen accidentally.

Michael Vick lol

This was all sparked when we were talking about M. Vick who's playing his first NFL game tonight alongside the Eagles after being in jail for two years for being involved in the torturing of animals and all that shit and on another NFL player D. Stallworth who was drunk driving in Miami and killed a man, he only got a few days and jail and blah blah blah...... im just wondering... i'm on the animals side...

DRUNK DRIVING ISN'T ACCIDENTAL. THANKS FOR CLARIFYING.

Drunk driving and killing a person is far worse than torturing animals, because you made a poor decision.

I fucking hate drunk drivers.

Yeah I really dislike M. Vick. It sickens me over what he did, and I don't think he should be getting a second chance at all. Although I'm not much of a football fan so what am I to say..

Right, see this was all discussed...and the ever popular texting and driving... all that... it was pretty crazy... i though people were gonna start beating each other up.

:laugh3:

I love debates in school because I'm not afraid to get loud and curse and stuff but everybody else is.

Mhm, all these guys were like saying a person's life is more important than an animals life..blah blah blah... PETA is dumb making a storm in a glass of water. They need to cool it...blah blah blah

This girl was getting super mad... and i also learned what "veal" is... i'm not a PETA follower either but we humans do a lot of messed up shit to animals all the time... :\

I voted the wrong way, since you didn't clarify. Drunk driving and killing someone is worse than torturing animals.

Well I mean, it's not only that, it's overall...that was the question that was asked

Which is worse; intentionally torturing an animal or accidentally killing a person?

It doesn't zero into drunk driving, it's overall accidental deaths.

Yes but drunk driving isn't completely accidental, because you're making a poor decision which is putting other lives in danger.

You might agree that it's awful to torture animals but a lot of you will have killed animals on purpose. Slugs, spiders, flies and moths are all animals you know...

Everything is about intention, IMO.

That's the thing that irks me most about suspensions in sports, particularly hockey. Someone goes and does something dangerous as fuck... but no one gets hurt... short suspension.

Someone else does something that is still not acceptable... but not nearly as bad. But some stroke of bad luck, the injury is worse... long ass suspension.

That makes no f'in sense.

Maybe it was a little late, but it was just because the guy got super hardcore injured that Brash got suspended. I was mad.

Intentionally doing something, when you know it is wrong, seems worse. Because if you accidentally do something, then really it is your fault, but it's not in a way, because you didn't mean to do it.

:P
