If you were in Coldplay's position

where would you go from now? The Viva La Vida Tour is finally over and you can start over, but with what, if anything? What do they do or what do you want them to do.

Yeah, the band announced a Latin American tour. And they said the tour wasn't over...

...it never is for Coldplay...

Yeah, I know but it's only a couple of weeks in Ferburary/March.

Well they are going to spend a lot of time here apparently

Compose new songs and raise fundraisers for relief funds in Philippines :). lol

After the Latin America Tour, I would continue working on my new album. Then have everyone wait till Christmas 2010 and release Christmas Light in a new style no one has ever heard of with a big commercial that would get people talking (like VLV). Then start this big tour by 2011 til 2012.

Then by 2013 release a greatest hits, but not titled greatest hits, it would be titled someting spectacular. On the cd have unrealesed songs, then in 2014/2015 go on a BIG world tour, then finish and stay friends :D

Twenty years from now, be named the greatest band of the early 21st century :wacky:

The tour's not over, and they are back in the studio (and by all accounts songs have already been written and well-received, even if they won't see the light of day for a long while/ever).

I guess they will probably be working on the album for most of this year, on and off, with my guess as to an Autumn (Fall) release, perhaps even a track or two released over the summer.

Anything they want to do at this point is fine by me :) I'm just grateful for VLV (the album more than the song, though it is good, and great fun live) and I never thought we'd get such colour or energy from the band. So, roll on LP5!!

Some predictions, though:

- The LP5 tour will see the band playing mainly stadiums. They feel they've reached that level and are comfortable with it (to an extent - but that is what they've aimed at since they started, so that is what they'll do, after building up with a first tour leg of probably arena shows).

- They will still tour mostly in the USA, ignoring the rest of the world, except Europe and the UK. I guess they play here once a year, and we do get all the radio shows (even though the rest of the World hear/download them anyway!) so I should count myself lucky!

- There will be a big break after LP5. Not the band breaking up, but a very long 'holiday' for the guys - I'm thinking 2-3 years before touring again (last ever tour?) with a record possibly just before that.

I expect a lesser tour as Chris Martin may have hinted at.

there's only one way to go for Coldplay...... up! :)

I think they will preview some of the new material in S. America when they visit. Just a hunch.... :sneaky:

I would be terribly jealous ! But oh well people of South America deserve that :nice:

That's what I meant. Less shows, but bigger ones each time. This will be the last time Chris risks almost breaking his voice forever by playing three shows a week for a year and a half non-stop.

They're next album will be georgian chanting, endorsed by the pope with some celtic music influences. Chris reckons it suits his voice

Oh and don't forget the whale sounds they'll add to the background
