Teetotallers

Featured Replies

I briefly took up alcohol but then quickly gave it up again because I realised that all alcohol tastes disgusting. Any one else a teetotaller and if so why?

I don't drink alcohol, too. I find its taste rather horrendous. And sometimes people look at me strangely when I tell them I don't drink. They say it's uncool. I don't see any sense in drinking acid-like liquid

I'm not tee-total, but I agree that all alcohol tastes disgusting and I hardly drink any at all.

I could quite happily live without it, and I can only drink beer if it's in a "shandy" comprising at least one-third of lemonade.;)

I agree, and anyone who says it's "uncool" is uncool themselves.:smug:

Like yourself, I've had wierd looks when I've said I don't and will not drink any alcohol. I simply say "I don't like the taste". When I'm in a pub I'll have an appletizer or another soft drink. You can still have a night out WITHOUT alcohol and anyone who doesn't get that are just strange.

YES. You can still be funny without destroying your brain cells by drinking alcohol! :D So many people in my school only go to parties to get drunk. And then they say it still wasn't funny at all because they were too drunk.

At my parties I don't offer alcohol at all, and then my guests are always surprised how funny one can be without beer etc.

Exactly. There are far too many people who say they can't "enjoy themselves" without alcohol. That's just total bullsh*t.;)

I always thought alcohol is something that gradually we have to take to drink.

Though for me it didnt get tasty yet.

Me too. If you think about it, it's almost a form of "prejudice".:dozey:

Definitely. Anyway, I like to dance for hours on end, and for that, alcohol is actually detrimental.;)

Me either, and I'm pretty sure it never will.;)

Total respect to you for not offering alcohol at parties. Total respect.

Thank you man.

I'm not old enough to drink, and I don't think I will when I am. It's just never been appealing to me. Plus I have a lot of relatives who are alcoholics. :dozey:

^I had some relatives like that too, but they are dead now. However I think thats more of a psychological problem. :uhoh:

I agree. I think I can see why we all get on, as we are all "independent-minded"

and won't just "go with the crowd" for the sake of it.:D

It's all in my sig, by the way.

My granddad died after his liver packed from being a heavy drinker. Subconsciously, I must have felt very aware of that.

It seems you have something in common with it, then...........................

If that isn't provocation I don't know what is...

Seems like I have something in common with you, too, interestingly.

I'm sorry to hear that. :(

Apart from the fact you apparently don't like beer, no.
