October 8, 200916 yr Hi, i hope i'm posting at the right place. I'm just wondering how you can get your guitar to sound like jonny's in for example moses/one i love. the sound of his guitar is just amazing. I've an orange tiny terror with a strat loaded with emg dg's, and a new tele thinline 72. I know my amp isn't the best for imitating the coldplay sound, but i want to try anyways. I've got some pedals, but i think a new one or two won't hurt. Mxr micro amp, line 6 dl4, tubescreamer ts808 and a ts9 clone, boss cs-3. what settings i should use? any other tips?
October 8, 200916 yr i found out (for my amp, but i think you can apply that to any), that for quite a lot of songs, the following equalizer settings sound good: High: full Mid: 1/3 Low: cut completely then take your thinline, hook it up to your ts808 and your amp and set your ts to 1/2 (gain or whatever). use the bridge PU.... for shiver, you could turn up your ts to max., then after the intro turn the volume ON YOUR THINLINE (!) down a little, about 1/3 HOWEVER: there's so many songs and effects and settings... you just have to find out yourself!
October 8, 200916 yr umm, i know he used DeVille's on A Rush of Blood To The Head + that tour, thats what Jonny's guitar tech said.
October 8, 200916 yr I can remember a pic with Chris's amps and it said someting about Chris his Orange amps.

I don't have an eq on my amp:S But thanks for helping out, this info was quite helpful. Did jonny really use an orange amp in his earlier days?
October 10, 200916 yr Don't think so, I've only seen pictures of his DeVille Hot Rods and his Fender Twin Reverbs (they can be seen in the Shiver video) with the open backing Here we go: EDIT Chris used a Marshall amp for the Parachutes era as seen in this performance: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jYGjmriZ6a0]YouTube - Coldplay live Bigger Stronger 2000[/ame]
