And the story comes to a close. I think the parents should be fined for all the money losses it caused from rescue operations.

I heard last night on the news there are going to be charges filed against the parents.

I read the same thing on Danish Text TV this morning and thought: "YES".

If these people get away with it, other fame-hunting people might come up with similar things and events / stunts in order to achieve undeserved fame.

And all the costs of the search after the boys etc. and all these people around the world worrying about the boy's fate. They deserve to be FINED for this - a substantial FINE would be FINE with me. :laugh3:

So it sounds like the situation's now ballooning out of control!!

Well hold on now, let's look at this logically.

In my view, it's not a good idea to fine this man or send him to jail. Here's why:

If you understand his background, you'd know he's a carpenter by trade, and his business hasn't been making any money. He's renting the house his family lives in. It would be an undue financial strain on him if the government fined him.

Second, he's got a wife and three little kids to support. Sure, he has strange beliefs and he's a fame-o-holic. But someone needs to put the bread on the table for these kids, and they need to have their dad present at this stage in their lives.

If I were in charge of the situation I'd put him on probation for a year, and make sure he gets a job. Not a strange job (like appearing on a reality TV show) but a normal, everyday job with a wage. The State shouldn't come down on him like an iron fist.

This whole story is so fucking stupid. I guess I really don't care either way. It's bad karma for him at the very least.

The police are calling it a hoax and going to file charges.

well I don't think they should be 'fined'... but they should flip the bill for all the manpower the state put forth in trying to rescue this little brat.

and check this out...

In the 911 call, the boy's mother, Mayumi Heene, told a dispatcher in a panicked voice that her child was in "a flying saucer." She sobbed and said, "We've got to get my son."

It was not the first time someone from the Heenes' home has dialed 911. A Colorado sheriff's deputy responded to a 911 hang-up in February at the home, hearing a man yelling and noticing Mayumi Heene had a mark on her cheek and broken blood vessels in her left eye. She said it was because of a problem with her contacts.

Richard Heene said he was yelling because his children stayed up past their bedtime. The husband and wife said nothing had happened, and the deputy concluded he did not have probable cause to make an arrest.

The father seems crazy and violent. He sounds like a real danger to his wife and kids.

This whole thing is just so hilarious.

I just saw on the news that the sherriff's office is in fact deeming it a hoax. The authorites have seized computers, documents, and video from the home! :surprised: The story gets better and better! lol unbelieveable...

That family is an attention seeking bunch of cretins. The kids are spoilt and their mum and dad aren't fit to look after children.

Yes, this is what happens when people have such over-inflated egos.

Child services is now looking into the matter... gets better!! lol

Yay, now the Government can raise these kids. So much better than their biological parents.

the governement? No the system... aka foster care or more than likely some family member. :/ either way... the man is a kookoo head and he deserves to be in jail. Or better yet, some psychological help. :) lol

Has he ever done anything violent toward the children? Sure he's put them in unsafe situations, but he's there with them (as a storm chaser). Sure he's got strange beliefs (but Christians believe in a Jewish Zombie, so whatever).

I don't see why this guy should have his kids taken away from him by "society".

The dad is batshit crazy

there's no comparison to religious beliefs to the fact that he aided in the possible endangerment of a child. He put that kid in a compramising situation! He's admitted to being stern and a bit too stern with the kids... and if he hit his wife.... does he really have to get to the point of hitting the kids for them to be taken away? Clearly he's a danger to them as well...

and further more.. lets try to be a bit more respectful of others religious beliefs.. ey? Just because you might not "believe" in the ressurrection of Christ, doesn't mean its ludicrous... thats why its called "beliefs".... not "fact"... everyone is entitled to believe what they want and their opinion... but lets remember it is a "community" forum.. and we do welcome "healthy" debate... not the insults of one's belief. :)

thanks you...

on that note.. lock him up! lol

He hit his wife before, why wouldn't he hit his child?

Put the kids on Ebay, the free market solution.

The non-aggression principle doesn't apply to women, Nick. Little-known-fact.
