Do you still listen to vinyl?

Featured Replies

Yeah, but if you want even a half decent one, it's better to make the investment, trust. :)

We have a big box of mom's old ones and a record player,

but i don't like any of them,

and for her, the hassle in taking it down and playing them is too much.

I have a lot of rare and live Beatles records. My friends always tell me to sell them. And I always reply the same way. "HELL NO." :smug:

I have two turntables including my Dad's and lots of old albums mostly picked up at yardsales- lots of Beatles, a bit of U2 and Blondie, Sufjan Stevens' Illinoise and of course Coldplay's singles boxset.

Only problem is that I went to play my copy of The Beatles' White Album last month, and Back in the USSR sounded like chipmunks. Turns out the 33 gear on mine is broken and it's sealed off so I can't figure out what's wrong.:(

I so want a turntable. One day when I have money.
Have you tried yardsales? Sometimes people sell good ones for just a few bucks.

Is that something that used to be played on a gramophone?
Didn't you say you used to DJ once? :P

Are all the coldplay albums available on vinyl?
I think so. Some are harder to get than others.

I recently found out I have many vinyls from my parents and grandparents, but I just listen to them sometimes, usually when the family it's together, like weekends, it's a lot easier to listen to music with the ipod, mp3 or CD...

Original pressings of the first three albums should be snapped up immediately when noticed. They're hard to find now. Last year's 180-gram re-pressings, on the other hand...

I've got a record player - but I don't have any vinyls. They're all my dads. I'd love U2's 80s albums on vinyl.

The Joshua Tree sounds so amazing on vinyl. That first ambient bit at the start- no cd can capture that. :nice:
