Here, have some Muse flamebait

I don't think Muse are a particularly interesting band anymore.

Fine, they're listenable. But I don't think they're anything too special or anything I could stand listening to every second day.

Flame me so I feel self-important and badass!!!

I completely agree. When they first started they were fresh and original and exciting, but all their albums are too safe. They haven't really broken out and tried anything bold and new, the new album sounds like it could have been written 3 years ago by them. They bore me now.

Take a chance, Muse.

Starlight is the most annoying song ever.

I disagree.

THIS is unanimously agreed upon as the most annoying song ever. Chuck Norris almost killed himself after watching it twice.

Satan must exist if this song can.

I've tried to listen to the new album. After My Guiding Light it becomes unbearable and I haven't been able to finish the album yet.

I love the Exogenesis: Symphonies, but everything else is kinda meh.

I usually skip My Guiding Light and Unnatural Selection.

Listen to Exogenesis. And MK Ultra.

Well, the entire song is actually about the MK Ultra project if you look at the lyrics. (Yes, I did have to look up what MK Ultra was after someone mentioned it on a tv show.)

Isn't MK Ultra something that was hidden in the booklet for their previous record? Mind control drugs and all that CIA conspiracy stuff?

Where in the booklet?

Page 11 I think. Well I guess it isn't hidden. Its just mirrored. But pretty sure those are the CIA docs.

i would of expected a thread like this from someone like howyousawtheworld or mc_squared. but not you, Cobalt (can i use your real name??)

you dont like muse? I DONT CARE! just dont need to tell the whole world about it.

For some people it's just easier to be negative and complain all the time :nice:

Well, Briggs, I agree, Guiding like is really not a good song, but just skip it, cause the end of the album is awesome !

Sounding like early Radiohead on those first two Muse records isn't exactly original. I think part of the problem is the way people approach Muse's music expecting something deep, when in reality Muse just makes music for ''fun'' and for entertainment purposes. Their target audience is the 13-16 age group, a group that prefers riffs and bombast over depth and subtlety. I find myself enjoying Muse more when I treat the music as catchy for the moment music. Something you can just easily pop in and not really think much about.

They actually sounded very little like Radiohead other than the fact that Bellamy's voice sounds like Yorke's at times. They did have a somewhat unique sound, they just haven't changed at all.

I found it hard to listen to Muse after listening to this.

I wouldn't do this for a band - well only one. Well actually two, but I ain't even going to bother wasting my time on writing an article on Red Hot Chili Peppers. Actually they are 10 times more overrated than Radiohead, because Radiohead have some talent.

^^

there are soooo many things you could of criticised the chili peppers on and you chose talent! the one thing that they DO HAVE! :laugh3:

Omg finally a thread dissing Muse hahahaha Love it!

I don't get the Muse fascination at all, I'm not saying they are bad per se, it's just that they are nothing special or original, or big or clever. Bellamy thinks he's some sort of rock god, guitar hero type... idk, I don't hate them, but they do make me do this -->

:P

I think my fasination over them keeps changing. When the new album came out I was all over then and listening and loving there music. Now that thats over, Im finding it hard to listen to over other music I have. They still are great and make great music but just not the sort I would want to listen to all the time like coldplay or U2.

^^

yeah i must admit i agree with you. most of my favourite bands i can listen to all day every day but not muse. and listening to their first two albums lately has really turned me off BHAR (bar a few awesome songs) and Resistance.

i think muse make a much more rougher edgier style of music compared to coldplay and u2 which makes it harder to listen to them non-stop.

can people see muse still going in 15-20yrs time? they've enjoyed such incredible success at such a young age it will be very interesting to see where they go as the music industry evolves.
