LadyBellaStrawberry
They were sitting They were sitting on the strawberry swing Every moment was so precious *normally you say something was precious, once you lose it* They were sitting They were talking under strawberry swing Everybody was for fighting Wouldn't wanna waste a thing *positive about fighting? okay ive got nothing for this one * Cold, cold water bring me round Now my feet won't touch the ground Cold, cold water what ya say? When it's such… It's such a perfect day It's such a perfect day *now my feet wont touch the ground... accepting death* I remember We were walking up to strawberry swing I can't wait until the morning Wouldn't wanna change a thing *can't wait till the pain stops, heaven* People moving all the time Inside a perfectly straight line Don't you wanna curve away? When it's such… It's such a perfect day It's such a perfect day *maybe like romeo and juliet? they couldn't be together so now they will be?* Now the sky could be blue I don't mind Without you it's a waste of time Could be blue I don’t mind Without you it’s a waste of time *without you its a waste of time could mean that life is nothing without you* Could be blue, Could be grey Without you I’m just miles away Could be blue I don’t mind Without you it’s a waste of time *it doesn't matter what happens, whitout you im nothing* Im just guessing

Juanma
:p also i remember listening in an interview,Coldplay saying that "Strawberry Swing" was the "happiest" song of the album... so being about suicide doesnt make sense

If there's any hidden meaning it's probably one involving pot.

The "strawberry swing" could be a mental condition for feeling good... But I won't be surprised if this song is related to a simple personal story which meaning is hard to understand
Guest howyousawtheworld
The only song I've bothered to think about is Amsterdam If the only song you like by Coldplay is Amsterdam then why the fuck did you sign up to to this forum? Somehow that really pisses me off when all you come on here is to dismiss other Coldplay work but spunk all over Radiohead 'because it makes me intelligent'. Saddos. LadyBellaStrawberry
Okay guys, its not about suicide, I know. I thought it was about love as well, I still kind of do :D But isn't ever personal suppose to have their own interpretation of a song? Some people thought VLV was about the stockmarket and some about Jesus. All in all I agree with Fitz, its about loving someone so much it makes you really happy  Now what do you think Lovers In Japan is about?

Darlene_Ihnfsa
Sotckmarket and Jesus?!?! How the hell do they fit in?!? many people back when VLV got released, thought (and may be still think) there's a Jesus reference / resemblance on that song. all in all what matters is our interpretations / meanings to songs. we'll dislike a song if the band say is for some reason that we don't associate the song to?

Guest howyousawtheworld
I can see the connections with Jesus and Viva La Vida even though I'm pretty certain that it ain't about him! Loosely based on King Louis as the fall from grace and of course the epic Liberty Leading The People, depicting the French revolution as the cover of the album as the clue. 'Revolutionaries wait for my head on a silver plate' probably depicting Louis's execution. I say loosely - France never did rule the world!
