When you have a user on Ignore do you still click to view their posts?

Featured Replies

I dont think Ive ever had anyone on ignore but from what I just read you don't need to go through the effort of un-ignoring them to see their posts, you just click on the post.

So I put this to you, the public:

When someone annoys you too much, goes too far, that they push you into actually hitting the ignore button, because it actually affects the fun you have on here, do you still end up viewing their posts regardless? Do you feel tempted? Do you sometimes do it?

If you're like me and you havent used the ignore button or dont remember using it, what would the answer be?

I suppose this says a lot about us as people, whether we are bitter and begrudging, or whether we can just get on with it as these things don't affect our actual lives and really shouldn't matter.

Unfortunately Id be bitter and begrudging. I cant imagine someone annoying me enough to hit ignore, but if they did, I just know Id still have to read their post each and everytime, I dont like leaving stones unturned.

The only situation that I can imagine using Ignore is if a poster is so boringly bland that it actually annoys me just reading their irrelevant words (I'll say it because Im sure she wont be back here and she wouldnt care anyway, *Justine* used to bore me to tears consistently) but with those people I usually am able to recognise their avatar, read the first two words and then realise that I wont be interested and skim over it.

In fact Id probably end up getting curious, clicking their post and reading it, paying more attention to it then if it wasnt on ignore.

Yea I did that to Mark for a while, I clicked on almost all of his posts. Very irritating.

I knew the 5th option was a bad idea

Why have them on ignore if you can feel curious?

Thats the point of the topic, people can get so irritated in a moment that they put someone on ignore, but when it actually comes to their post being infront of you a few hours later or the next, you just cant help but click it. But because youve made the stand of ignoring them, you want to stay true to yourself and keep them on ignore, but end up clicking every single post anyway.

I noticed Shane saying he had everyone on ignore in another thread, and then quoted one of you. Hes no doubt still reading every post in there (And probably the same ignored posters in this thread).

Its like when you try and forget a friend and delete them off your phone, but if they send you a message you might not reply but you'l end up saving the number.

sometimes I do... unfortunately

I can't ignore anyone!

I can't ignore anyone!

That must be horrible...

Depends on who they are, why they're ignored, and how much any particular comment is vital to the conversation.

Im not expecting many No's.

I cant even find the ignore button

It used to be on the bottom left but I guess Ian moved it as so many people kept accidentally ignoring.

On a positive note, by looking for the ignore button I have discovered the sweet multi-quote button :awesome: Oh the joys of life

To go to your ignore option, you go to the top of the page and click on 'user cp' and then click on 'edit ignore list'
