I hate it when people are always on about how they miss the old good days. We've heard it about a billion times, I'm sorry things aren't as good as they were back then, but by whining about it isn't helping anybody or making it any better.

 

I've been spamming these last few days on people's profile's but I don't think that's the spam everyone in here is talking about. I do have to admit that bumping random alias threads is quite annoying and weird, but being banned over that is just ridiculous. I think we all just need to calm down a bit...

I didnt see the abuse thing you are referring to. But I do feel if you try to actually express yourself, people don't respond well (And you are lucky if they respond at all). Its strange thinking that I used to write posts that were +500 words (Guestimated) and get a positive response, now I just feel like Im not being silly enough and killing peoples spammy buzz trip.

 

But good points on both posts Mo. Its weird how people who've been here a while can take a step back and look at it as an overview.

It is a good point in theory, but to be fair Ive been back posting for over a month now, reading loads of crap day after day, and this is the first time Ive brought up how shit it can be. Before this return I'd complain about it all the time, but I made the effort to try and just embrace the forum this time, I reserve the right to whine about it in one thread.

 

Ive seen others complain a bit about how its not as good as it was, but this is the first thread Ive seen about it since coming back, and I can tell people like Julia, Lore, and Ren also get frustrated as I do, but I dont think we complain that much.

 

I guess this is where the respect for oldies thing that Julia mentioned, comes into play. In the past, whining about times being shit actually have made a difference, but you werent there.

Not near to everything has been posted, the most interesting topics are original and obscure. And even if they have been made before, it was probably years ago when a lot of the members who are posting here now, werent around. So if anyone thinks of a new topic dont be put off by whether or not its been done before, nobody cares.

I don't have a problem at all with the topics youve bumped, well I cant say Ive enjoyed it, but Im not annoyed by them (For the same reasons you mentioned).

 

For me personally this thread has nothing to do with you, or even any posters in particular. Maybe your thread bumps along with some spam lately has just cropped up this conversation, clearly some of us have had a lot to say and nowhere to say it.

Do you honestly find all the spam funny? Sure, some spam is fine but like a billion of thread made of " kasghfgueygukegy" can be really annoying. If teh forum is boring the i'd suggest creating a serious thread where people can debate or exchange ideas instead of posting or bumping old thread just to annoy others or kill your boredom.

 

Btw, i've seen this spam going for some weeks now and not only for a day like you said, that's why i'm replying to your post now. Oh and you care to explain how all the " jjkgsdhfgsdwe" , old thread bumping or pvt spam was "funny"? I think it was fun when we all had a day of an alias day and get to play and stuff (as we know not to take it seriously) or when I let you spam the lounge ('cause it was boring and it seemed fun at the time even though I wasn't really supposed to at ALL!:embarassed:) but doing constantly becomes annoying & becomes boring in 5 minutes. I think the problem is that people here seem to be afraid to say anything whether is something serious or non-serious so they don't respond at all.

 

I'm gonna say that when I say 'I miss the old days' it's mainly me missing some members that no longer log on. Why? Who knows? and how the forum used to be. The forum in the old days used to be about 'as one' & everybody knew each other & it was a lot less members that were active. Now it just seems like there's so many little groups that click which it's fine as it is a big forum and a lot more people log on and chat in here. All these alias are more of a "guess who I am! :awesome: " or they are just afraid to express themselves or are complete bored... and it alienates everybody else..at least people are not fighting:bomb:

Why are you making such a big deal about the private spamming? It was just harmless spamming on a few people's profiles. We only did it to people who were in our little spam group with the exception of a few noobs. It was amusing to us, if it wasn't to you then fine. It's not affecting you in any way, so it can't possibly be bothering you that much.

 

I wish everyone would stop gaining up on Emily. It was just a few innocent bumps, it's not like she filled the whole lounge with shitty threads. I agree with her about the lounge not exactly being the most fun place before the spam fest started. It's the holidays and people are most likely to get bored thus leading to spam and random bumps. All those spam threads from the spam fest about a week ago were gone after an hour or less, so I don't really see why you would be so angry about that. I can agree with you guys about that smiley Alexa kept posting. I'm sorry, but it's annoying to see a huge stupid smiley every time I enter a thread. All together though, I think you guys really need to calm down about this whole thing. It's really not that bad...

To be fair, I found that kinda of annoying, but I never said anything about it because I didn't even care that much. Yes, I do realize that was about 5 months ago, but I don't see how it's any different then what's going on now. Spam is spam. I don't mean to hurt your feelings with this Julia, but I just understand why you wanting someone banned just because they spammed when you do it to.

I posted as a mid-teen, its got nothing to do with age, I just understand how it doesnt get boring. I did a LOT of spamming one night (Like literal spam, 100 threads with basically the same title), then Jo let everyone spam for 20mins and it became spam night, that was fun because it was just chaos. Then the next night I did it again for like 30 threads, it wasnt fun, at all. I even had a go at spamming one of the personal profiles, to see what you get out of it, and after 10mins I was like, whats with these guys?

 

Im not angry about it, I just dont get it.

 

I agree with Ren about the 'spam elite', and I guess thats whats annoying. Its what I was referring to as alienating earlier, you open a thread and dont have a clue whats going on, and it turns out, its normally because nothing is actually going on, its just random crap. Im not sure if I agree with everything Ren said because I dont know exactly what hes talking about (What Emily said, the billions of "omfofme" threads- Ive only seen that in VM's, not 'threads') but if hes talking about blank posts and smileys, fair enough.

 

I dont see why this looks so harsh on Emily, if you look at my response to her, I made it pretty clear that Im very sure the topics raised in this thread have as much to do with her as me or anyone. Because i am a mod after all and i have to get rid of the spam. I'm talking about the first spam like 2 weeks ago with a million of "jdfhasjgfyu" threads just for "fun". And in all honesty, it was really annoying, especially for us mods who had to deal with it and clean your mess. ( i especially found it very disrespectful when i saw a spam thread saying" haha, we're making you mods work! :awesome:" or something like that) What's the point of that anyway? Fun? for fuck's sake,i'm sure people must have something better to do with their free time rather than go on a message board and post random crap like that. Oh my bad, most of the new generation of coldplayers are youngsters so they have the right to do so if they want to eh? No, wait! Some of you are actually 17-19? Sad thing it is.

I have no idea if she's still trying to get banned or not. And she did fill the first page with shitty threads 2 weeks ago and last week too with the help of other member ( will?). Again, how is that fun? Care to explain? If you are bored then turn off your pc and do something else and if not then try creating a thread where people can actually participate and voice their opinion about a" x " topic. I personally found it pretty pathetic to do this "spam fest" online just cos someone is bored and think is the most fun thing to do here. Oh and it was gone after 1 or 2 hours because we had to remove it all and trust me, removing so many threads is not much fun.

 

I'm aware that some mods spam too but most of that spam is in one thread only and with a serie of posts in the same thread but i've never seen julia or any other mod posting like 30 threads in less than 5 minutes with a topic like: "uihdsgfuakh". There's a big difference there.

 

By the way, why do you care so much Julie? I haven't really seen you posting spam unless i'm missing out. If you want me to mention names then i have to mention Emp3 who is the most persistent of the regular spammers i've seen here even after getting a warning. I didnt do any of my spamming as disrespect to you or Ian, I just honestly dont see how much work it could actually be. Isnt it just like deleting a load of junk emails? Just ticking boxes? Even the worst hits couldnt have taken more than a few mins.

 

When I modded on another forum, it was a different forum type but deleting spam was very straightforward.
