Rejecting the things that have been around for too long?

Featured Replies

Do you get bored of things that last too long? And you just sort of reject it since it's been here for so long. For eg, a friendship or a song?

Just wanted to know what others think. Because I'm starting to reject things that have been around for too long. CHANGE FTW.

I'm the complete opposite. I would love nothing more then a long friendship but usually the "friend" does something to me or does what you do and call it off...:\

your not rejecting these things because "they've" been around too long. your rejecting them because "you've" kept them around too long. i'm the same way, so i make it a point not to allow something(music, people, places, etc) to stay too long. when something starts feeling comfortable( a feeling i like), i move on and away from it.

there's nothing like hearing a song you like or used to like after a long off not hearing it, or seeing a person you got along great with after not seeing them for a while.

reminds me of the thing that starts with bipolar. what is it again.

I get tired of things easily, yes, if that's what you mean.

Er... I'm the one who prefers to write with a fountain pen. And to listen to music on vinyl records... And who plays the N64 when I want to play video games...

So I guess that's a no.

I don't mind long friendships or anything, but I have to keep shuffling songs on my ipod. Otherwise, I get sick of good songs and never want to hear them again.

The only time this happens for me is if I think I want something then get it, realise I don't then freak out. (This has happened a few times with girls, where I've flirted a bit, then realised they are actually interested in me and just gone "NO!")

But most of the time, no.

I get tired of things easily, yes, if that's what you mean.

^That.

Doesn't happen to me but I sometimes don't appreciate things as much as I used to when I've had them for a long time, which is a shame really. I get used to having something/ being around someone and I only realise how much it means to when I lose it.

Some things are particular to a time or place in your life. Some things you just let go of because it's better to have a nice memory of it than to let it die a slow and painful death.

Making it a point not to allow something in your life not to become too comfortable is a little disturbing though.
