April 16, 201016 yr Author By the way, why do you call yourself maggotbrain? Maggot Brain is a song by one of my favourite bands of all time, Funkadelic. If you're after a way to waste ten minutes - give it a listen > [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dh3bleXWaCk]YouTube- Funkadelic - Maggot Brain[/ame] It's basically a 9minute guitar wig out where the guitarist got told to play with the feel as if his mother had just died. Works for me!
April 16, 201016 yr Your welcome MB, the vid was ok to see, and yeah you were getting into it, it's really cool when the audience responds well to what your doing... I am in Florida, but if I was around your area I would certainly come see ya, seeing CP at Wembley in September 09 was my last trip over the pond for alittle while tho.

April 16, 201016 yr Author Fair enough MF, it's costs a ridiculous amount to fly between the continents. VLC got offered a gig in New York last year, but we'd have to have gone hundreds of pounds out of pocket just to get there! Someone needs to sort it out... if only I knew someone who worked for Ryanair! How were CP at Wembley? I missed out on the tour with Jay-Z, it got mixed reviews from friends of mine who went to the Manchester show.

In my opinion, the atmosphere was fantastic because of all the Coldplayers there, but I have seen better Coldplay concerts. Of the "bigger" shows, Cologne (2008) and Duesseldorf (last August) were much better.;)

Well Wembley was excellent as is all their show's, but I am biased:D JayZ rocked the house, loved him!! Sorry you couldn't come to the US that would have been killer for you to go to NY, keep on with it tho, you never know what will fall into your lap one day:)

I would have enjoyed it more if I was like you down front collecting DNA, instead of the bottom level:D

I would have enjoyed it more if I was like you down front collecting DNA, instead of the bottom level:D I don't think I would have enjoyed it anywhere near as much if I hadn't been down the front, in the rain, surrounded by fellow Coldplayers all wearing yellow T-shirts. That's what made it special for me.;)
April 16, 201016 yr well nor is being in a tribute band so i'm at a dead loss there! in response to your comment, i would agree that the voice is 'put on' a little - our singer (called chris, coicidentally) is doing an impersonation of chris martin's vocals, so what you're hearing isn't exactly our singer's natural voice, but that's the point i guess. very few tribute artists have voices that naturally sound like the original artist, so the name of the game is how well you can impersonate. also, regarding the rhythm, i'm inclined to disagree on that front. when we recorded our demos (speed of sound and in my place) we played to a metronome. this is something coldplay do themsleves, as alot of the music when played live is pre-recorded, such as the string/synth parts to speed of sound. when you play along to backing tracks you need a 'click' sound in order to keep in time with it. bearing this in mind, it's virtually impossible to go out of rhythm, and considering the level of attention and pedantry we put into everything we do it's quite unlikely anything has gone out of time. i expect what you've heard was intentional! wanted to try and reply without starting an argument, hopefully i've achieved that! thanks for listening anyway. For the rhythm I said sometimes, not all the time, maybe one time or two, not more ! And when I listen to your singer, I don't want to hear Chris martin, I never told that, it's just that's it's sometimes out of tone ! And I know some bands who are completely out of the rhythm so believe me it's possible ! :D Too bad that your gig is too far, because maybe you rock on stage ! ;) You're welcome for the listening. Bye.
April 16, 201016 yr Author Oh right, I thought you said something about him sounding false. All this time on the Internet is making me crazy! Anyway, whereabouts are you from Carol_Jade?
