Wow, so far it's dead even. I'm surprised.

HOORAY, my option is winning. :nice:

EDIT: No, it's not. I read it wrong.

There's no correct version. It's all a matter of opinion and how you were taught to say it. Personally, Care-ihh-bee-uhn is probably more of a European version of the word, like how most Americans say "Prah-gress" instead of "Pro-gress"

:uhoh:

Care - uh - be - in

Well done! You chose the correct version too!:P

The real question is:

I'd say it "Care-ihh-BEE-uhn" but my dictionary gives me 2 ways of pronouncing it.

THAT.

Way to bring up another point. I, in fact, DO say "prah-gress" as opposed to "Pro-gress." :P I also know that people in England pronounce Renaissance "Reh-NAY-sawhnce" as opposed to "REH-neh-zawnce," which is what I was taught. :P

Aha! But if you speak French, you know the correct pronunciation, as it's a French word!:D

I doubt people here in Texas would appreciate me being that technical with my pronounciations. Besides, my French accent is terrible. :P
