Mac vs. PC (which do you like better?)

Featured Replies

None, modern Macs and PC's don't surpass my original Commodore 64C that I bought in 1982.

It's classy, fast, and with kickass graphics. You all should buy them and get used to them now, they will be making a comeback soon.

PC , mine is still running with xp

Fuck yeah! Most Macs are personal computers = PC... MAC is an OPERATING SYSTEM, PC IS THE HARDWARE.

Thanks. I was going to say that but after talking about LINUX (:charming:) I thought that was enough geekery for the day.

Mac is NOT an operating system.

Mac is NOT an operating system.

Mac is an operating system, yes.

No it's not. An operating system is Windows 7, Linux, Snow Leopard, Mac OS, etc.

Mac is a personal computer.

Apple is the company. They make Macintosh computers, which have operating systems (e.g. Snow Leopard).

An operating system is Mac OS

what is this

the conflicting statement brigade?

No it's not. An operating system is Windows 7, Linux, Snow Leopard, Mac OS, etc.

Mac is a personal computer.

Mac OS is what I meant, my bad. But Mac, the computer, falls under the category of PC. And most Mac OSes are used on PERSONAL COMPUTERS.

So yeppity yep.

Yes Macs are personal computers, but Macs and PCs are COMPLETELY DIFFERENT, which is why they are being compared.

I don't think you understand what that PC is synonymous with "computer that uses Microsoft Windows."

Of course I understand that they're synonymous, but it's a bad synonym, this poll should be, "Mac OS or Windows-based OS." Just being nitpicky. You can run a Windows OS on a piece of Mac hardware, and run Mac OS on a computer designed to use Windows.

It is very difficult to put Windows on a Mac or a Mac OS on a PC because of the way they are coded, so not really.

Plus PCs ONLY come with Microsoft OSes and Macs ONLY come with Mac OSes, so it makes perfect sense.

Calling Microsoft computers PC just makes it more simpler.

Nah, you can. Hardware is hardware. If you have the skillz you can do it, just it's a bit dumb.

PC is a Hardware term, and Mac computers are Hardware that fall (usually) in the category of PC. PC =/= Windows even if that's popular language.

yes, I am just being difficult.

I like Mac better, but I have a PC.

Props to Sara for revealing her geekery of Linux

Linux doesn't really make you a geek anymore, it used to be Linux users all customized how their OS worked and shit, but with Ubuntu n stuff all sorts of people can use the delicious awesomeness of Linux.
