I really enjoy the pictures posted in the various forums but about 1/3 of the time for me the pictures don't show up. I get the little box with a red "x" in it. I've tried pasting to another application, etc. but still can't see the pic. Other photos show up just fine. Do I need to set something? Thank you for any help anyone can give.

How are you posting them?

I'm not posting -- trying to look at photos that others have posted. As mentioned I can see most of them fine but some just don't show up. Looks like I'm missing some great pics! Thanks for the help.

What do you mean with "pasting them to another application"?

And did you try it with Mozilla Firefox already?

No, not posted recently, in some cases they were posted several months ago. (I'm also getting the "moved or deleted" message for some but I'm not ever worrying about them.

 

Trying to troubleshoot I attempted to copy the link (where the little "x" is) and paste to something like Windows Photo Editor -- no luck.

 

Unfortunately I don't have Firefox, I am using Windows Explorer.

 

I thought the links might be broken but comments from other Coldplayers indicated they could see the photos. Sorry to be a pain!

Ok, so I think it could be a problem with the site they have been uploaded to because I heard in another forum that someone had similar problems.

 

Can you find an example and post the link in here?

^ That's because signatures rules were changed, so you have to upload your signature onto Coldplaying or else it will show up as a link.

Ok, that's a "bad" example because coldplayfrance.com (where the pic location is) changed their website recently and as far as I know their gallery doesn't exist anymore!

 

I don't think it's a problem with your PC or the forum, the occasional pic might not show up but that might be because it doesn't exist anymore!

 

If you can't see pics in the future, here's a quick way to check if it's just not showing up / loading or not existant:

Quote the post in which you're suspecting a pic, copy the link inside the tags and paste it into a new tab.

Some pages hinder pictures to load because they don't allow hotlinking.

The picture should load then... or not! :P

Make sure you haven't accidentally set your browser to block pictures from certain websites
