Mumford And Sons: Bands alike?

Featured Replies

Hello everybody!

I hope I get a little bit help on here, because I've got a request from my sister:

She really likes the band Mumford And Sons and already listened to the album over and over again. And now she's hungry for more music like this :D

Does anybody know other bands that have a similar style to them? Something folklore-ish or however you describe their music...

I would really appreciate your help. :)

WOOP thank you!!

Ooo!

Laura Marling is quite folkish as well, her music is great, though not as loud as Mumford & Sons though!

Here's a song with Marcus Mumford.

NME's been using this for its Glasto Videos!

Try the Avett Brothers, also! :)

yeah Laura Marling's second album is a perfect selection. mumford + sons are actually her backing band which is why they tend to have very similar touring schedules and naturally they played most of the instruments on her second album.

i also thought this aussie band might be suitable

Would have put them closer to fleet foxes than mumford and sons I guess. But similar folky vibe.

my friends always get annoyed when i compare fleet foxes to mumford + sons but to my ears they make the same brand of music, yes one is louder and more bluegrass than the other but at the end of the day they're both part of this indie folk movement. of course one is far far superior to the other.

Yeah I wouldn't compare them as much, I'd say Boy And Bear have elements of both bands. The track "The Rain", the last off the EP, is probably the most like mumford and sons of all the tracks. And hells yeah I dont see Mumford with a #1 of the year, but still, great album.
