It's good when an artist does the same..

Good afternoon folks,

i really like how Ryan Adams ( My idol ) communicates via Facebook/twitter with all his fans.. hes considering fans as his friends, so hes posting all his personal news, whats he's planing to do, records he has been listening to and influencing him and even posting sometimes he's eating a pizza and that he has taken his cat to the hospital..

thats a great thing, i like it!

SOME bands are just too busy to do that, working on their commercial stuff and earning money! so they are disturbing you with their bullshit: new dates, new records, new t-shirts to buy bla blaaa

i really love how Ryan is close to his friends..

i agree with you, in fact my other fave artist does the same, as a photographer -also musician- he is he shares his pictures. :nice:

i wish more artists will do the same, but i guess is as you say, commercial and money goes before their creativity :\

btw you liked RA last album?

-i did bumped the thread when it came out but none answered :( -

A lot of bands have their own blogs and do the same thing..

Biggest example, Radiohead with DAS.

I was thinking that yesterday, haha.

Yep! and that's kinda cool! I love twitter for that :) I guess I'm lucky cause a lot of my favorite arists either do twitter (Alex Kapranos, Nathan Followill, Mika, to name a few...) or blog on the band website (Gary Lightbody for exemple posts long messages about almost everything from the band latest news to what he's reading/seeing/listening at the moment or just personnal stuffs).

I prefer that at reading interviews.

Not all bands are personally in charge of things like Facebook, Coldplay's is probably updated by Anchorman  But Regina Spektor, Jon Hopkins, Metric, Susanne Sundfør and Fleet Foxes all post their own. If you write on Susanne Sundfør's wall she'll probably answer as well.

:)

wait one more album that i didn't knew about? :surprised:

when it'll be out and so? :o

-i have him on fb and i didn't saw him post any news recently or i happened to miss it :\ -

Are you sure it's Ryan and not someone he has employed to be-him on Twitter?

Yes, i think so.. because he has finished working on Blackhole and Cardinals III/IV ( both old unfinished releases ) and currently working on new solo stuff in LA and NYC.

thats what i've read :)

so lets wait.. ;)

thanks for the link :) i checked it while ago, never bad to give it another listen, but honestly i can't help it to giggle at times :uhoh: i mean i'm used to another kind of music coming from him not this.

great news about more albums to come

i'll try to keep updated.

not off-topic mostly it is sad a genious as him have his thread here almost dead :(

Yeah, true..

it seems that his music is not people on here cup of tea and thats sad..

Yeah , it's super awesome and kind when they do that , my fav drummer (from Keane) has a Twitter and he anwers questions and that sort of things he already answered me two messages!, and he takes a lot of artistic and band pictures when they are touring so that's great

Lady Gaga does her own Facebook too, I think.

That would probably be someone employed by her record company :P

I love it when bands never talk to their fans. It make them seem so much more mysterious :charming:

Radiohead's been doing this type of stuff since 1997.
