Mad Men

Me Me Me!!!

I avoided looking at just any picture of any of the cast to not destroy my "picture" of them in the series.

It's awesome.

So well done.

I went to that cinematic art fair this month, it was only for owners of cinemas etc, no public showings of the movies etc.

And so many of those people are addicted to Mad Men as well!!

Was a great topic for having a bit of small talk coz I didn't know any of those guys haha.

I feel so guilty that I didn't find time to catch up with the new series. :embarrassed:

As soon as I have more time I'll do another marathon and watch them all at once. :awesome:

I just saw last nights ep online... I missed it last night. (fell asleep :()

it was BANANAS!!!!!! You have to catch up! So much has happened.. and I don't know where its gonna go from here... its a great show. I love the art direction.

Jon Hamm isn't too shabby either :wink3:

I bet!

And yes, it's like cinema wasted to TV

But this way we get more of it, not only 2 hours...

The way it's filemd and the precision of costumes etc are outstanding, remarkable.

I sooooo have to catch up! :disappointed:

My friend even hasn't watched more than the 1st series yet (her English isn't so well and she didn't buy the second series on DVD because it's so expensive, watching it online isn't an option for her) and I need someone to talk to about it so desperately. :bomb:

In every episode so much is happening...

well now we have a thread  so we can chat about it here ;)

Yes! :awesome:

Will try to catch up ASAP! Promised! :bomb:

But not tonight, am in desperate need of some sleep...

Talk soon hun!

Mee!!! Ok, I've only seen season 1 but I found it fascinating. I saw The Town a few days ago (starring Hamm) and it reminded me I had to catch up :sweatdrop:

ahh girls, get to catching up!!! ;) its a great show.

I need someone to chat with!!! :P I actually have quite a guilty pleasure with Pete Campbell. :( Not so much his character, because he is a bit slimy.. lol but the actor! I think I quite fancy him.. :(

This is the best show on TV, and one of the best ever IMO. It's absolutely fantastic, and I'm always glued to it, which I can't say for many programmes.

The script, camerawork, dialogue, acting and "costume" are all wonderful.

It also has the perfect blend of humour and "seriousness", and some fantastic characters.

In the same league as "Life On Mars", without a doubt.

I just re-watched the first ep of season 4... last time I've seen it was the day after it aired!

Now I'll watch the second... so "only" 11 to catch up. :uhoh:

Doesn't look good for all the things I wanted to do before work tomorrow.

EDIT: OMG the nurse living next door of Draper's flat is one of the new docs who were shot in Grey's Anatomy!

/BUMP!

Ok, just to say I started a Mad Men marathon two weeks ago (only saw S1 before) and now I'm at the beginning of S4. No need to say I"m ADDICTED. Everything in this show fascinates me: the characters, the COSTUMES :bomb:, the hair, the decors, the way they shoot scenes (reminds me sometimes of Hitchcock)... It's just so PERFECT!! Plus, the cast is fantastic!

It's funny to see actors I already know from elsewhere:

-Pete Campbell=Connor from "Angel"

-Sterling=ex-husband of Gabby in Desperate

-Salvatore's wife=one of the intern in Grey's Anatomy

-Don's nurse neighbour=dead doc in Grey's A

-Joey in S4=Jack from "Jack & Bobby" (gosh, I loved that show, still mad they candelled it after one S1!)

anyway, still have a few episodes left to watch but I don't want it to end... I red that there some issue to resolve between AMC and their production network, so they don't know WHEN they'll start shooting S5..... :bigcry:

Watch it now and then, not too captured, although it's a great show. Can get a little slow at times. Brilliant theme music, though!

Can get a little slow at times.

I think that's the point...and I'm amazed they managed to do such a great show with basically nothing happening... It's all about the characters and I LOVE that.

And dunno if you've seen the SNL spoof Jon Hamm did....It's called 'Don Draper guide to picking up women'....HILARIOUS :laugh3:

Basically...be Don Draper!

I've watched it a few times and it's good but I think we're probably behind a series in the UK

I'm not sure if that's true. I believe there have been four series to date. Anyway, it's a fantastic series, and its slow pace is one of its great selling-points, as most shows are far too frenetic nowadays.

Same here in France, it's only S3 and on a private channel :dozey: *coughblessinternetcough* but I'm SO buying the S1->4 boxset DVD when I'm UK in april! HMV, I'm coming XD

I want the new season. NOW. I've been suffereing from withdrawals.

And Breaking Bad too, but that's a whole other thread. The AMC channel just plain rocks.

Ok, I've finished Mad Men... Wow, what a season!! I must say, I'm a little :inquisitive: with the Don/Megan storyline: WTF?!!! I hope he will get back to his sense in S5 and dump her, she so...blah. As for the rest, I can't wait to see how the agency will survive!

Bring in S5 already :bomb:

ME TOOOOOOOOO! :bigcry:

Season 5 will not be on air until a while... I red yesterday it is likely to be in 2012 :bigcry: I also red it could be this fall... anyway, they're not shooting it at the moment as they used to be and the deal the production/creator are fighting over is not concluded....

I NEED MORE!!!!

  • 2 months later...

anyone can point me in the right direction to watch Mad Men...short of buying the series DVD before i've even seen a single episode. don't think any of the channels in the UK are showing it at the moment?

  • 4 weeks later...

I hadn't watched any of this show until a few weeks ago, and got given all 4 seasons on DVD and wow!, absolutely love it, one of the best shows I've seen in recent times, I've just started season 4 already.
