I don't really know. But bands that they mention alot in interviews are Radiohead, U2, The Flaming Lips, Idlewild, Ash, Ron Sexsmith, The Music, REM, Blur, Sigur Ros, Muse...

Other bands that I heard that they like: Echo & The Bunnyman, Jonny Cash , Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Foo Fighters, Eminem, Squeeze, Oasis, Beach boys... :/

They also like the Aussie band Powderfinger. At Splendour in the Grass, Chris opens the song 'Dont Panic' with a lyric from their song My Happiness. And powderfinger also had the 'special guests' support slot on part of their Australian tour a few years back.
