What 20th-century physicist should we name our cat after?

Featured Replies

I'm leaning toward Feynman but my dad wants to call her Fermi. She's a stray that we think was dumped and keeps rubbing up against us obsessively and purring and she's so damn cute we may adopt her.

Nobody suggest Schrödinger, please. Such a corny name for a cat.

he wasn't in the 20th century, but named your cat Faraday

did you watch The Big Bang Theory's lastest episode?

Haha I haven't yet but my friend told me what was in it. :P

I guess it's somewhat related to that episode, but I've always wanted to name a pet after a scientist.

I heard about it and my friend said Claus Fuchs was in it and I was like OMG WAS HE THE NAUGHTY CAT??? cuz Fuchs was a Soviet spy, but he said he didn't know... the joke would have been perfect if he was D:

Sheldon Cooper is a) not real and b) not a 20th-century physicist anyway. :snobby:

But Sheldon is a cool name for a cat

and you could put Buzzinga on it's collar

:awesome:

I voted Curie because then when you want it to come to you, you could say, "here, Curie Curie Curie..."

Sounds kinda cute.

Gell-Mann, because saying come here Gell-Mann sounds... Hehe.

Come hither Sheldon Cooper Cat ? :cheesy:

I was leaning toward Curie if I wasn't going to call her Feynman cuz Curie is a feminine name. Hmmm.

WILL WATE 4 MOAR DATA 1ST THO

I had a cat once. I dropped a sofa on it. It was a write-off, so I stood on its head.

I Had a Cat Once and My Neighbour Stole It :blank:

True Story :bigcry:

I think we've accidentally stolen a cat.

It doesn't come in the house but I feed it.

Well if you let your cats run free it's technically against the law, here at least. Cuz it's against the law to kill other people's pets, but nobody knows whether they're strays or other people's pets, cuz if you let a pet run free and it has a collar it can get its collar caught on branches and choke to death, so the law is just that you're not supposed to let them run free. Except nobody pays attention to that.

We think she's dumped, but we don't know; we're gonna try to see if anyone in the neighborhood owns her. She's like just past the age where you could consider her a kitten so it's pretty likely that somebody dumped her.

aaaaAaaaw Poowr Kitteh

I Miss my Meggy :bigcry:

Cats are poisoned here. There are just too many.

Dogs are dumped at an island where they starve to death.

Welcome to where I live!

jz jk

No, seriously, there's an element of truth somewhere there.

Oh I think it's like that everywhere. In Kentucky people just dump cats and dogs by the side of the road. There was a news story a week or two back where somebody was just driving along the freeway and literally chucked their dog out of the car. The dog's in the dog hospital recovering right now though, so he's okay. :nice:

To be fair if the pets weren't abandoned they would go to shelters and probably get euthanized. Dumping a cat in our area, which has a lot of trees and mice and stuff, means the cat would probably live for at least longer than it would in a shelter. Especially this cat, she's kind of boring and black even though she's really really really friendly, so she isn't that likely to get adopted. Plus like I said, she's past kitten-age (barely) so that doesn't help her case either.

You should keep the cat, you seem to really like her already!

Gosh, dumping the dog out of the car? OUCH.

Over here, there's an island in which some people (actually from another island) dumped their dogs there. But I think the case must have been settled now, though I won't be surprised if it's still happening.

I'm disappointed by mankind's attitude towards flora and fauna.

On the farm there are like 30 cats there everywhere I Have to fend them away when I'm trying to feed the Doggies :P
