Cook now has 762 runs in the series, having batted only 7 times with average of 153. If he does cross 800 he will join a very elite club of only 7 batsmen to do so. Out of that club only 4 have done so away from home and only 2 with 7 or less innings.

I would say they've been desperate for pretty much the whole series!:P

England 644 all out. Great effort. As for Alastair Cook - wow!

Let's hope the wicket comes alive now and the English guys can take a few wickets.

The Aussies better not dig their heels in with these last 3 wickets, I intend to stay up a bit late tonight to watch the final act! :cool3:

Just a few hours to go!!

I think England will win the series 3-1.

Dated 24th November! Looks like my prediciton was right!

I'm watching it right now, but I fail to understand cricket.

ah damn. its stopped raining and they're playing again. tickets to the game have been given away for free today lol.

its raining!!!

Wickets?

Just heard a couple of good jokes on BBC Radio 5:

What do you call an Aussie centurion?

A bowler.

What do you call an Aussie who can catch?

A fisherman.

One more wicket to go to secure a 3-1 series victory. These Austalian tail enders have held on doggedly.

It's over! England win the test match and the series 3-1! What a truly fantastic performance by England in this test series. Sensational!

England players are celebrating and the Barmy Army are going mad and what do they play in the background? Only Viva La Vida!

Followed by Six You and Trouball?

By the way, stop press:

Since shortly after the end of the final test, Scott Miller - the Australian vet who does ITV's This Morning & often focuses on exotic animals - has been inundated with phone calls asking him to return to Aus immediately. Even the Aussie PM called.

Wondering why?

Because he’s the only Aussie who knows how to hold a bat properly!:P

That's all, folks!

What do you call an Aussie with a ton?

WOOO!

we won something.

but the world is back in order now. with england going at 6 per over down only 2 wickets in the first one dayer.

  • Author

and we won again!!!!!

watson's 161 would have to one of the all time great one day innings. i had a bit of free time after the match and i took a look at the highest one day scores of all time. although watson's score is well down the list, it is the 4th highest score of all time by a player on the chasing team.

Who cares about the one dayers?

I bet most of the England team can't wait to come home to parade the ashes in front of the crowds.

Australia chasing only 214 to take a 3-0 lead in the series.

hope we can do it!

These one dayers should have been done before the test series not after it. Very awkward.

  • Author

yeah. and why are there 7 of them!!! should've been 3 T20's and 4 or 5 one dayers.
