BTW UK Q subscribers, did you know Q magazine gave away a free CD with the previous issue if you got the magazine in a shop?

What a way to piss off the subscribers, give freebies to non-subscribers.

Q is the best music magazine out there. The likes of NME and Pitchfork are just very immature. Uncut aren't bad.

;)

um, I've just discovered the amazingness of XLR8R..or just Accelerator. It's more electronic music based but it's really well done (except for the reviews....) AND they put up their issues online for free!

COLDPLAY'S INTERNET UNDERGROUND: By old-school standards, Coldplay's new single "Every Teardrop is a Waterfall" is, at least so far, a middling hit – it peaked in the most recent Billboard Hot 100 at Number 14. However, BigChampagne's Ultimate Chart shows it jumping 10 spots to Number Five, with an especially strong "Fans, Friends & Followers" rating. Why the discrepancy? Could be because the band streamed it free on its website shortly after it came out, ultimately scoring four million views on YouTube in six days (and 6.2 million to date), which is something this chart measures compared to the Billboard chart's exclusive look at sales. This bodes well for Coldplay's upcoming album, which is reportedly due sometime this year, but even more so for the band's tour, which is truly where artists make their money after building YouTube buzz.

The breadth of acts on display at Lollapalooza this year is overwhelming. We've assembled this 25 track playlist to get you ready to experience the best the fest has to offer – from the most ragged edges of the fringe to names you know and love. Turn it up and dive in.

1. Foo Fighters, "Bridge Burning"

No song better sums up Foo Fighters circa 2011 than this one. It opens with a click-click-click that could be a climbing rollercoaster before bug-eyed Dave Grohl howls, "These are my famous last words," and the song dives full-on into chaos. Half-second guitars and heart-attack percussion surround an eerie, sinewy chorus that seems to foretell one man's downfall. It's the Foos at their darkest and best.

2. Coldplay, "Every Teardrop is a Waterfall"

Fortunately, we've made it past that weird, unfortunate cultural intersection where we all tried to pretend we were too cool for Coldplay. Do you like heart-on-sleeve-lyrics? Slow, insistent crescendos? Guitars that corkscrew like suncatchers? Lovably preposterous song titles? "Every Teardrop" delivers all of that in spades – and tacks on a world-beating chorus at no extra charge.
