November 3, 200322 yr Now I know I didn't delete them from my own profile. Indeed I know you added a restriction on images, because i wanted to add a link to my profile the other day and it said my image is too big, that it could be 468 pixels high and 60 pixels wide (banners are 468 wide and 60 pixels high) a clever ploy. Now was there some sort of problem with the banners I had? Because if so, there was a bit of text underneath that let you know to contact me if there was a problem, and that i was sure we could sort it out. Anyone care to explain? anyone brave enough to actually own up?
November 3, 200322 yr What Happened To My Banners? Ya whats up? they were entertaining! I DEMAND A RECOUNT!!!! er sumthing
November 3, 200322 yr I thought Ian said before that he wanted everyone to get rid of their banners for good...maybe he took it off.
November 3, 200322 yr New code has been added to the board, effectively disallowing images to be added to the signatures. This unfortunately is the lengths I have to go to when people consistently flout the rules that the large majority of posters respect. So yes, there's your explanation, and if you want someone to own up, it was your friendly webmaster :)
November 3, 200322 yr Author And you couldn't have PMed to say this? Instead you just go right ahead and get rid of it, despite my Sig saying that if there are problems then you should contact me. Don't go on about respect if you're willing to show none yourself :p Why exactly are we not allowed Images in banners then?
November 3, 200322 yr I could be mistaken but I think since Ian is the webmaster, he kind of has the right to set certain rules, and if people don't follow them, take action without consulting the person first. :/
November 3, 200322 yr Author I have added my banners back to my Sig simply because i have noticed avatars increasing in file size, so that most are now bigger in filesize than my banners. If there is a problem with this, PM me and we can talk that way. that's in my sig, just below my banners (or where they were) I don't think that's being too unreasonable
November 3, 200322 yr they are just fecking banners  :dozey: your not the only one thats been effected!!! :(
November 3, 200322 yr Author Yes, i'm sorry i can't a have a picture of Chris martin in my sig and then drool over him like a pre teen
November 3, 200322 yr Yes' date=' i'm sorry i can't a have a picture of Chris martin in my sig and then drool over him like a pre teen [/quote'] oh yeah coz we all know how much you'd love that!!!  ;)
November 3, 200322 yr I'm going to be reviewing the file size restrictions that I have previously set, so nothing's set in stone.
November 3, 200322 yr Author what are the current file size restrictions? The only reason i'm a little miffed, if you could call it that, is simply because there are several people on here who have avatars that are of a larger file size than my banners.
November 3, 200322 yr Boo-hoo. Why should you be the only one who has pic's in there sig? Pissing and moaning about it isn't going to do any good. Everyone had to remove them, including me, and I'm sure they didn't enjoy it either but you have to get over it.
November 3, 200322 yr Author yeah but you're both arrogent (with less style than me) and had huge filesizes in your sig. Your sig would be what i class as a typical forum sig..tsk tsk
November 3, 200322 yr i can't see what the problem is at the end of the day banners, avatars etc. are repetitive and not particularly important  ;)

If there is a problem with this, PM me and we can talk that way. that's in my sig, just below my banners (or where they were) I don't think that's being too unreasonable Unreasonable? I'll tell you what would be unreasonable: 1) You have a banner, then: 2) Someone else sees that banner and thinks it would be a good idea to have one of their own; 3) Posters jump on the band wagon and before you know it everyone's got an image; 4) The images turn into gif's and are bigger than their own avatar that you're referring to; 5) The board becomes the slowest page on the internet and people get pissed off 6) Pissed off people moan and post elsewhere. You can see the snowball effect yes? I'm sorry if you're upset that you can't have you're banners but I've got no choice but to do it for the reasons I've given above. As for PMing you, you took no notice last time I asked you to take them down, otherwise we wouldn't be having this conversation now.

November 4, 200322 yr hahahahaha! I remember when I was so pissed off about the same thing! hehehe  But I got upset 'cause mine got taken down while some of you still had yours:rolleyes:
November 4, 200322 yr I was intrigued when I saw his banners, and it made me want to start making them, i think those banners are really cool, especially the ones with movie quotes. That was before the rules were made, so I gave up on making my own, also because I realized the problem first-hand. One day I went on the forum and all the banners that everyone was using were totally lagging the browser. So i can understand why the rules were made. I still think the banners are way cool, but for the sake of others, I didnt want to get into a situation like this. His banners alone may have been ok for my browser, but all the banners from others added up with the icons (including animated gif icons) and photos made scrolling a big problem, plus I can see how it would encourage others to do it. Hey, it encouraged me. So I can understand. I also stopped using Internet Explorer. Heh... Anyway, I hope this doesnt cause any major problems. Its a forum. Lets just have fun.
