I'm not from Manchester but I used to work there so I know the city quite well. I think it's alright. It's good for shopping and the nightlife is pretty good. It rains a lot though and it's generally quite cold.

Depends which area of Manchester you'll be in. Some places don't come to work without a bulletproof vest (Moss Side etc) and others don't bother unless you're driving a Range Rooney or convertible. Happy to help further :)

I went there a few months back and I loved it there, hope to go to Uni there in a few years :)
